What Were the Odds? Spanish Socialists Grossly Underestimated Number of Illegals They Let In

Oh, gosh darn it. It's amazing how progressive #mathz, like communism #failz, are the same whatever language they're in at the time.

Progs trying to make their case or hide their incompetence/malfeasance cannot or will not count correctly to save their lives, be it poop content in the outflow from a busted sewer pipe in Maryland (only 9900% higher than originally disclosed) or the actual number of illegal migrants taking advantage of a chance to swarm the Spanish border and pick up some schweet government bennies, all at the invitation of the Socialist government of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

HOLA!

This scheme was hatched back a bit when the scandal-plagued and increasingly unpopular government of PM Sanchez started divining that future elections were not going to go their way and revived a previous citizens' petition for accelerated 'regularization' of immigrants for labor rights. The Cabinet of Deputies (their lower house of Parliament) voted to consider the petition in 2024, and Sanchez's Socialist cabinet adopted the decree in January of this year.

...Under the new scheme, any foreign national who was already in Spain before 31 December 2025 may apply, provided they can demonstrate at least five months of continuous residence. Proof of residence can be established through public or private documents, or a combination of both. Applicants must have no criminal record and must not be considered a “threat to public order”.

In the case of asylum seekers, eligibility depends on having an application for international protection before 31 December 2025 and being able to document it.

Successful applicants will receive a residence permit valid for one year. After that period, they will be required to transition into one of the ordinary residence categories under Spain’s immigration rules. The measure does not grant permanent status, citizenship, or voting rights (except for local elections, but on very demanding terms).

Its core objective is formalisation. Regularisation allows people who already live and work in Spain to enter the legal labour market, pay taxes and contribute to social security, rather than remaining trapped in the informal economy. The process applies equally regardless of nationality.

Word that the government was considering what was basically a mass amnesty program set off a mad migrant dash for Spain's front door to make it across the border under the 31 December 2025 cut-off.

WE'RE DOING IT FOR THE CHILDREN...AND WHOEVER THESE GUYS ARE

Sanchez spent the end of January virtue signaling.

He should have been making contingency plans just in case a few more folks rushed the gate than the half a million estimated by the organizations that wrote up the original proposal, and the one Sanchez's cabinet approved independently of the Parliament.

...The mass amnesty was authorized by the Council of Ministers at the end of January through a royal decree mechanism, allowing the government to implement the policy without a full parliamentary vote after previous proposals stalled in Congress. The highly controversial measure was heavily criticized by social conservatives, both in Spain and across the West.

Barely two weeks after giving the thumbs up to this brilliant amnesty giveaway, PM Sanchez was asking Brussels to take tens of thousands of migrants off his hands who had paddled from Africa to the Spanish autonomous zone of the Canary Islands. Not that it had anything to do with Europe. They were all there in order to take advantage of Spain's handsome offer.

WE GOT ENOUGH - YOU TAKE THEM

The Spanish government has asked the European Commission to help facilitate the redistribution of migrants arriving in the Canary Islands to other parts of Europe as part of a broader package of measures aimed at easing the demands placed on the archipelago.

...Cuerpo said the government is seeking mechanisms to allow redistribution of unaccompanied migrant minors and transfer migrants arriving in outermost regions to other European territories to prevent what he described as an “overconcentration” of migrants in areas such as the Canary Islands.

The Spanish government is effectively asking Brussels to take immigrants off its hands and move them to other countries that have strengthened their borders, despite only last month announcing a mass amnesty for over half a million illegal immigrants, which Spanish conservatives have said is creating a pull factor for new arrivals, predominantly from the African mainland.

Socialists - they're a total pisser, no?

It gets better. Remember how part of the 'regularization' process was not having a criminal record?

Yeah. About that.

#BREAKING | A computer failure has left the Extranjería criminal record filtering system inoperative for the past two months

Sánchez, Europe's Maduro, wants to legalize over one million illegal migrants. His party announced that their criminal records would be checked. Today, however, it turns out that these checks have not been carried out for the last two months due to a "system failure".

Not being able to check a record is tantamount to not having one, so technically, everyone's in the clear. Wee!

'S'ALL GOOD

Today's news only gets worse for appalled Spaniards. Besides not being able to verify the criminal background of a single one of these delightful supplicants from God knows where, a leaked internal report from the Spanish police that just dropped says the number of 'immigrants' Spain will be welcoming needs to be readjusted by almost a factor of 3 - from 500,000 to somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.35 MILLION. That's one whale of an...however you say, 'OOPS' in Español.

For starters, Spain's insanity now cuts across the whole of the Schengen zone.

GULP

...While the official line insists the measure will benefit around 500,000 people, an internal police assessment warns the true number could reach as high as 1.35 million and risks creating a powerful pull factor across the Schengen area.

...Yet a leaked “risk analysis” from the National Centre for Immigration and Borders (CNIF), part of Spain’s National Police and dated January 29, 2026, paints a far more alarming picture.

According to the document, reported on yesterday by news outlet El Confidencial, between 750,000 and 1 million undocumented residents are likely to apply, with an additional 250,000 to 350,000 asylum seekers also qualifying.

In the most conservative scenario, the total could still exceed 1 million, potentially reaching 1.35 million.

The report further cautions that the lenient criteria combined with Spain’s perceived “permissiveness” could trigger “secondary movements”.

Spain seems bound and determined to take Europe with them...

...CNIF analysts warned that the effects of the policy could extend beyond those already present in Spain. The report says the announcement has created “an international perception of Spain as a country more permissive with irregular immigration,” especially across Latin America, and risks creating a further pull factor.

That pull factor has already been experienced in the Spanish enclaves of Melilla and Ceuta, as well as on the Canary Islands where arrivals have soared, as reported by Spanish migration expert Rubén Pulido.

...once they finish wiping out what's left of their native Spanish who don't want to get with the Socialistista program, that is.

...Additional controversy has also surrounded comments made by Podemos figure Irene Montero, who argued after the amnesty announcement that newly regularized migrants should ultimately receive Spanish citizenship and voting rights, stating at a rally that she hoped to “replace fascists and racists with immigrants.” The remarks drew sharp criticism from political opponents and international commentators, including business figure Elon Musk, who accused the far-left politician of “advocating genocide.”

All of this should sound familiar. The open border situation, the mass amnesty plans, the appeal to 'rights' and decency's sake, and the lies and lousy math from the very beginning.

We saw it for four straight years, you know, and voted to stop it in its tracks.

To reverse everything that had happened as best we possibly could.

But they're still out there waiting on their next chance.

No borders boys of a feather flock together.

Come to think of it, Sanchez isn't really good with trains and keeping the lights on, either.
