10:50 Great googly moogly, the GIMME! GIMME! fun has already started.

I am going to bed. I want to thank you, my dear stalwarts, for watching this real-time trainwreck with me. I know it wasn't easy, but it is less painful with good friends around you and sufficient libations. I am glad you are here.

And so I will drop this earworm and headline inspiration on you for tomorrow, which is infinitely more cheerful than watching NYC commit seppuku, choosing between two jerks.

10:40 So. I'm going to stick a fork in both this primary and a rhetorical one in NYC. They're done.

So is Randy Andy.

10:33 How the Dem borough voting broke out:

BoroughMarginVotes
Percent of votes in% In
BrooklynMamdani +17351,83091%
ManhattanMamdani +5287,29689%
QueensMamdani +7209,04190%
BronxCuomo +1899,43888%
Staten IslandCuomo +927,49995%

That'll leave a mark. Curtis Sliwa won the uncontested GOP primary. And the NYT hasn't bothered to put up another update from their reporters in the last 53 minutes.

9:55 A wrinkle that will crush Cuomo if it pans out.

Jon Paul Lupo, a Democratic strategist who is not affiliated with any of the mayoral campaigns, said that Cuomo appeared to be too far behind Mamdani to win the race. “The gap is too big to close,” he said. It would be difficult for Cuomo to come back with ranked choices, he said, because many of Brad Lander’s supporters are expected to rank Mamdani after their cross-endorsement.

So Cuomo is going to run as an independent if he loses, as it looks like now. Sliwa and Adams are running as independents. And the Dem primary winner has usually wound up becoming the mayor.

What about this year?

Holy smokes. I can't even say 'game on' because right now, nobody has a game except the Jew-hating terrorist apologist.

YGTBFKM

9:48 Gruesome, might be a smidge premature but I felt like this would happen.

Seriously. The vote gap never tightened up.

9:41 So this is giving you a glimpse inside the Dem brains in the city. In a couple of local races, the 'Free Palestine' candidate types have won over more Israel-friendly candidates. This is disturbing.

Councilwoman Alexa Avilés, who represents Red Hook and other neighborhoods in South Brooklyn and identifies as a democratic socialist, withstood a primary challenge from Ling Ye, according to The Associated Press. As in Councilwoman Shahana Hanif’s race in the district next door, the contest was partly defined by the progressive candidate’s views of Israel. “I’ve stood up over and over to demand a cease-fire in Gaza,” Avilés recently said. “We want to end the genocide and we want a free Palestine!”

9:35 Got all night? Here's an explanation of why the tally of the ranked votes could take as long as if someone from Maricopa County were counting.

Despite the many differences between Zohran Mamdani and Andrew Cuomo, we interviewed a number of voters on Tuesday who said they had picked both men. But because this race appears to have become a two-man contest, those who ranked both effectively cast a vote for whichever one they ranked higher.

Here is how ranked-choice voting works: when the votes are counted, if no one has gotten more than 50 percent of the votes, then the person with the fewest votes is eliminated and the tally is counted again. That process is repeated in rounds until there are two candidates left, based on the second-through-fifth-place choices of voters.

And Mamdani is maintaining that ten-point spread.

9:29 Oh, BARF I did not realize that scumbag was on the ballot, too. Oh, well. He's got two challengers in November. Maybe they can take him out.

Alvin L. Bragg, the incumbent Manhattan District attorney, prevailed over his sole Democratic challenger in the primary on Tuesday. His competitor, Patrick Timmins, bet that voters’ concerns about crimes, particularly in the subway, would benefit his campaign.

9:25 Oh, yoicks. Betting markets are abandoning Cuomo and they haven't started counting today's ballots yet.

9:21 NYT reporting most of these early votes are all pre-election day ballots. About 10 points between Creepy Cuomo and the midnight at the oasis heart throb in those.

9:13 - Mamdani already has a bit of a lead in the early returns, but the NY Times has an important cautionary note we all need to remember. The primary is a RANKED CHOICE exercise, so, as they say, the results might not be available until NEXT WEEK.

Former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani have been locked in a tight contest. Votes are being counted, but under the city’s ranked-choice system, a winner might not be declared until next week.

I love you guys, but I'm not staying up for that.

Okay. *whap whap whap* I'm here. This thing on?

******************

Holy smokes.

I can't believe I have to stay up past my bedtime to see which incredible loser Big Apple voters will choose to WIN this.

And quite possibly take the whole enchilada.

It is completely and utterly amazing to me that there is a distinct possibility that two of our major cities and the crown jewel of American urban life - Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City - could all be in the hands of the most inept, disgraced, incompetent, corrupt, and hateful politicians ever elected and all at the same time.

And not because of a dictatorship or a coup d'état or an authoritarian takeover or a foreign or even Martian invasion.

No rational excuse for the madness other than a dearth of decent, honest human beings willing to sacrifice themselves as candidates, and that the people who lived in those cities willingly installed these lowlife jerks.

Polling locations in the city close at 9 p.m. EST, and we should have an answer, God willing, within a couple of hours at the latest.

Did the folks go into a booth, close the curtain behind them, and choose a guy they're very familiar with? The former governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo? The one who might have killed their grandmother during the COVID pandemic, or at least made sure she died alone and scared, while in her isolated nursing home bed, wrapped in a ventilator, surrounded by masks and strangers' eyeballs?

The guy that kinda sorta had the numbers jiggled afterwards, so it wasn't quite as many grandparents?

THAT guy?

Or the sleazy office lounge lizard governor?

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed 13 women who worked for the state over the course of an eight-year period, the Department of Justice announced Friday as part of a civil rights settlement with his successor.

The agreement concluded the governor’s office under Cuomo violated federal Title VII rules against discrimination and retaliation between 2013 and 2021.

Cuomo and his staff engaged in “a pattern or practice of discrimination against female employees based on sex” and found they retaliated against the women, Justice Department officials found.

The justice department found Cuomo “repeatedly subjected” women in his office to non-consensual sexual contact, ogling and gender-based nicknames. Top Cuomo staff “were aware of the conduct and retaliated against four of the women he harassed,” the DOJ concluded.

He's just a multi-faceted gem!

And old school pol, up against a fresh-faced young hater, whom suddenly everyone seems to have woken up to having a real shot at this thing.

An exotic name - Zohran Mamdani - and NOW they're all concerned.

Well, when you've got a face made for selling t-shirts like Che Guevara's, you want to give everything away for free, have the grocery stores in the city owned by the city, and you hate Jews plenty enough to have all the cool kids on your side, what's not to love?

SQUEEEE!!! SUCH A CUTIE PATOOTIE!!!!

I've done post after post on this not-ready-for-prime-time clown as he rocketed up the polls.

He's also your guy if you're worried about your relatives who work at any of Iran's now pulverized nuclear sites.

How could they elect him?

Come on, man! It doesn't matter what he says.

LOOK AT THAT SMILE

Luigi Mangione would kill for that smile!

Wait...

But he's got almost 70% of this overeducated demographic wrapped up if the last numbers hold.

I'll bet she wants us to pay her student loans, right?

Overall, the young pup goes into today leading the old hound dog.

It's going to be very interesting to see what the NYC Jewish community does and how their vote breaks between these two. Also how much of it is wasted on also-rans like the idiot comptroller who got himself arrested by ICE after attacking them at the federal courthouse the other day.

Every vote for one of those guys dilutes a vote for Cuomo that would help keep Mamdani potentially out of Gracie Mansion. A guy who started a college chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), which just happens to be funded by American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), which just happens to be under investigation by the House Oversight Committee for being part of a Hamas fundraising network, not to mention having October 7th ties.

HELLO, NYC JEWS - DIS GUY HATES YOU

Oh, well. As our Ebola says, it is what it is, and what it is tonight is just the grossest comment on the state of Democratic politics you could hope to have.

So, check back in with me later if you're up, and we will share gasps of horror, amazement, and dismay together as results come in.

What a sad state of affairs that I have to hope most of the city pulls the trigger for a disgusting, debauched old derelict, and am pretty convinced they won't.

Ye gads.
