Gird yer loins for "Election Games 2.0": Threats and answers

Oh, holy schamoly – you just knew the jackasses couldn’t resist taking a shot at laying the fear groundwork. Here comes the first round of DIRE ‘DEFEND DEMOCRACY’ WARNINGS

Whut? Haven’t we all been through the RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA BS enough? Oh, no. No, no, no. President “This is No Joke” is gonna read us the riot act gooderer and harderer…again.

Top Biden national security officials are tracking multiple threats to the nation’s election security infrastructure ahead of the midterms and are set to issue warnings, including in an internal intelligence bulletin this week, according to two people familiar with the matter.

The bulletin will lay out details of cyber threats posed by China and Russia, as well as other non-state actors, and potential physical threats to election officials in jurisdictions across the country, the people said. The warnings come as the midterm elections near and amid increasing reports of intimidation at ballot drop boxes. The people requested anonymity to talk freely about sensitive national security and election matters.

…“Malign foreign influence — whether it’s from the Chinese government, the Russian government or other governments — is not just an election-cycle issue, but a 365-day-a-year problem,” Wray said.

I’ve got a news flash for you, FBI guy – you and your jackboot thugs are the 365-day-a-year “malign influence” we’re all looking under the bed for right now. Nobody’s falling for the Russkie in the tailpipe joke, ever again, from your office.

…“We are now hearing reports of people surrounding ballot drop boxes, some even wearing tactical gear, and questioning people,” said John Cohen, the former counterterrorism chief at DHS. “Are the police prepared for that? They need to be. All of this is being driven by the false narrative that the 2020 election was stolen.”

They’re talking about whoever these yahoos were, and they buggered out in any event.

…On Friday night, deputies were “looking into several individuals watching a voter drop box in Mesa,” ABC 15 Arizona reporter Nicole Grigg tweeted, adding that the individuals were “dressed in tactical gear, fully disguised” and armed.

…”Deputies responded and were able to determine that the individuals were not breaking any laws and were more than 75 feet away from the ballot box as required by law. MCSO will continue to work with our local, state and federal partners to ensure a safe and just election process for everyone,” Sgt. Calbert Gillett said in an email to Insider.

Nobody needs to be doing that at all, especially not in the current climate, NOR do they need to be LARPing Dinesh D’Souza and harassing people at drop-boxes (AGAINST THE LAW, YO.). STAY HOME until you go to vote, and if there’s something to report then, do so immediately. Do not become the problem – the other side is just begging for someone to hang out to dry. But I also have to admit to a certain amount of skepticism when I read those reports. How do we know those are vigilantes, and not FBI operatives, trying to make locals either do something or just make them look bad? I mean…wouldn’t be the first time.

And judging by the lack of concern when these armed vigilantes showed up at a Philadelphia polling place and no one was too concerned. In fact, there were all sorts of excuses made.

…The intentions of the men in the 2008 clip, which was shot by Steve Morse, then a Republican poll watcher, aren’t clear. What the 80-second video doesn’t show, however, is that the man holding the club was asked to leave by police, which he did without incident. And the other man was a certified poll watcher.

…along with the classic, “It doesn’t happen near as much as they say.” It shouldn’t happen at all whatever side you’re on, capiche?

So besides Sino/Russkie boogiemen under the bed again, there’s state malarkey to contend with. Along the lines of Pennsylvania’s Acting Secretary of State basically telling SCOTUS to blow it out their nasal orifice. Anybody worried?

Pennsylvania’s top-ranking elections official said Tuesday that a new U.S. Supreme Court decision regarding how rules for the state’s mail-in ballots had been applied in a county judge election doesn’t change her agency’s guidance about counting them.

Acting Secretary of State Leigh M. Chapman said county elections officials should count mail-in votes that arrive in exterior envelopes with inaccurate or nonexistent handwritten dates, despite a requirement in state law.

To paraphrase Boris the Hangman from Blazing Saddles re: Democratic ballot requirements, “You’re all legal in my eye…

Oh, sorry. Wrong hunchback.

In any event, be prepared. This will be the start of two weeks of warnings, threats to democracy, maybe a communicable disease thrown in, selective nonobservance of the rules, law, and order, and communication of outright lies, especially as early voting numbers start rolling in and Dems and their media enablers really start the freakout.

These “Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency” guys. They kill me.

…“At this time, we are not aware of any specific or credible threats to compromise or disrupt election infrastructure,” CISA Director Jen Easterly told reporters on Oct. 13.

Even so, Easterly said, this year’s combination of misinformation, harassment of election workers and insider threats from rogue election administrators makes the current threat environment “more complex than it has ever been.”

Oh, misinformation, and slipping that “insider threat” there at the last minute. Didn’t think we’d notice, did you? We did.

Not today, Fed. Not today.

Stay frosty my friends.
