Feel-Good Friday: The Riley Gaines owns Keith Olbermann and it was spectacular edition

What better way to end a week in politics, current events, and culture than to applaud a young woman for fighting the good fight? My focus in this feel-good post is on Riley Gaines. After Keith Olbermann randomly trolled Riley on social media, she punched back. It was great and she should be applauded.

Sometimes owning the libs is what is necessary. In this case, Riley was pointing out that Nebraskans should remember state Senator Megan Hunt when it’s time to vote. Hunt ridiculed a proclamation Governor Pillen signed that establishes a “Women’s Bill of Rights.” Progressive women and men have lodged a war on women. Nothing makes that point clear more than the insistence that trans women be allowed to compete with women in sports competitions. Progressive women can’t even define the word “woman” any more. It’s crazy.

Hunt received a response from Riley Gaines, who knows a little something about the current war on women. She is a former NCAA champion swimmer. She was forced to compete with Lia Thomas and ended up tying with Thomas for fifth place in the women’s 200-meter NCAA championships. However, Thomas was awarded the trophy because, you know, trans athletes aren’t equal, they are special and must be treated as such. The NCAA wanted to give the trophy to the trans athlete for the photo op instead of the real woman athlete. She still hasn’t received her trophy.

The tyranny of the minority is rampant in our culture today. Riley graduated from the University of Kentucky and decided to forego her dental school studies now in order to fight the good fight for women in sports. Not men in women’s sports, but women in women’s sports.

This began the smackdown between Riley Gaines and loser Keith Ulbermann:

Riley was doing what she does. Olbermann wanted some attention so he weighed in by insulting Riley. He’s classy like that. You may remember that even the most liberal of outlets have fired him, like ESPN and MSNBC. When you are too crazy for MSNBC…

Her first response:

She has many championships and is one of the most decorated swimmers in the University of Kentucky’s program. The ratio on Twitter against Olbermann was strong. Olbermann is a loser.

Riley brought receipts to finish off the X (formerly Twitter) battle.

“An old man who can’t even seem to keep a job.” Ouch.

This young woman is so awesome. She has stepped up and is fighting a fight that many women have failed to do. Where are all the women athletes, besides Martina Navratilova and Chrissie Evert? What about women currently competing in sports? What about coaches, except for Coach Kim Russell at Oberlin College? What about the MeToo movement? How about the women who fought for years to get Title IX? There are so many who can enter the fray and help shut this craziness down.

Until people like Riley Gaines and anyone else who can draw attention speak up and say this it is wrong to have men competing in women’s sports, it will continue. Women are losing opportunities they worked their young lives for and it is wrong. Women no longer are guaranteed safe spaces like dressing rooms or restrooms. That is wrong. It has to stop.
