Karine Jean-Pierre dodges question about Biden family corruption, blames Republicans for investigations

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre put quite a spin on her answer about Congressional investigations into the Biden family business. During the first press briefing of 2023, KJP dodged a reporter’s question to blame Republicans for doing their job.

House Republicans campaigned on opening investigations into Hunter Biden’s dealings with foreign governments – Russia, China, Ukraine – and those of President Biden’s brother, Jim. Information found on Hunter’s infamous laptop computer shows some pretty corrupt-looking activity, especially as it involves the Big Guy who received 10% kickbacks from the deals secured likely in order to gain access to Joe Biden. The corruption of the Biden family business isn’t breaking news. It been reported for years, somewhat half-heartedly because the media covers up for Democrats, especially Sleepy Joe. So, with the new Congress in session on Tuesday, a reporter asked if Joe Biden had any concerns about the investigations that are coming.

Republicans have to unify first, of course, and elect a speaker before any of their work can begin. KJP decided to turn the question into a slam against Republicans for vowing to honor their promises to voters. She claimed that Republican lawmakers are more concerned about the Biden family than American families who want them to honor another promise – the promise to address inflation.

‘House Republicans promised that fighting inflation during the midterms was going to be their number one priority. That’s what they said was important to them. … But instead, what they’re doing is wanting to do an investigation on the President and his family. They don’t want to focus on the American people in their family. They want to focus on political division,’ she said.

As it turns out, her answer was erroneous, as usual. One of the first votes that will be taken in the House when Republicans get their act together is to cut the funding to the 87,000 IRS agents that the Biden administration and other Democrats want to hire to squeeze more money out of middle class families already suffering the effects of Joe Biden’s crises, including historically high inflation rates. Rampant inflation was fueled by excessive government spending. Democrats don’t care and insisted that spending bill after spending bill was rammed through. Sometimes they had some help from a few Republicans. One of those times was with the infrastructure bill. KJP made a point of boasting about Joe Biden’s scheduled trip to Kentucky today where he will appear with Mitch McConnell to highlight a bridge that received funds from the infrastructure bill.

Asked specifically about the turmoil in the House GOP Conference, Jean-Pierre said the president didn’t want to ‘insert himself in that process.’

And she held up a trip Wednesday with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky to McConnell’s home state. Biden has long called McConnell a friend, and they will highlight the Brent Spence Bridge, which is getting $1.6 billion in federal infrastructure funds.

‘Tomorrow we’re going to see a trip, an event that’s going to be done in a bipartisan way,’ she said.

She said the American people ‘want us to continue to build on policies like the president’s going to talk about tomorrow … If you think about infrastructure, it is connecting communities. And that’s what one that that is one of the vital things that we will see tomorrow,’ she said.

Deep thoughts from KJP – infrastructure is connecting communities and there is a bridge involved.

When Congressman Jim Jordan begins an investigation into Biden family business deals, he’ll likely have to fight the DOJ for the release of pertinent documents. It seems, according to a Colorado lawyer, that the DOJ is covering for Hunter and, most importantly, Joe Biden. The lawyer said DOJ admitted to having 400 pages of “potentially relevant” documents on Hunter and Jim’s dealings with foreign businesses but now DOJ says it can “neither confirm nor deny” the existence of the documents.

Attorney Kevin Evans first sued the DOJ in March after it allegedly failed to comply with his Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for documents related to “any relationship, communication, gift(s), and/or remuneration in any form” between the president’s son and brother and China, Russia or Ukraine, per the Daily Mail.

Evans told the outlet he filed his request in November 2020 after hearing about the Bidens’ overseas business dealings. He said the DOJ initially turned over 60 pages of documents, but they were all letters from lawmakers asking about the younger Biden and responses from the DOJ.

‘Then towards the end of last year they said, ‘well we have these 400 pages of potentially responsive documents, we need to review them,’” he said. “In March I filed suit, and before Magistrate Judge Michael Hegarty they made the same representation: they’ve done a thorough search, they’ve uncovered 400 potentially responsive documents.”

It’s good to be a Biden, right? Evan’s case will have its next hearing later this month.

The National Archives and Records Administration may soon release hundreds of internal documents from the Obama administration and some of that involves information about Hunter’s relationship with Burisma, the Ukrainian gas company. Hunter earned $83,000 per month from Burisma though he had no experience in the energy industry and no particular knowledge of Ukraine. He was paid handsomely to sit on the company’s board. There is a February deadline for the Biden administration to decide whether or not to veto the release of the records, which date back to 2014. If he vetoes the release, the documents can be kept under wraps until 2029.

Do we really think Joe Biden will allow the documents with Hunters sketchy business dealings to be released? He may though, because if he did, the press would likely treat it as no big deal, as they did originally with the laptop. The media will go out of its way again to protect the Biden family business.

Republicans need to get a speaker in place and get on with business. There is lots of work to do and most of it will be torpedoed by the Democrats in the Senate and the Big Guy in the Oval Office. But, investigations will make headlines. We already know that Hunter and his uncle Jim are grifters but it’s important to find out how compromised the president may be by his family’s business dealings.
