The clip really started picking up more attention on Twitter as people highlighted the one-handed chair catching skills of one of the employees.

So at this point, whatever happened at Waffle House in Austin last September is ancient history but sites like TMZ and others are covering it as if this happened over the holidays. I can’t see any record of this particular fight but while looking I turned up another Waffle House brawl from Atlanta that happened in September of last year.

Looking back, it’s actually amazing how much violence seems to happen at Waffle House.
- Oct 2021 – One killed, multiple hit by gunfire in Lee Co. Waffle House shooting
- Oct 2021 – Waffle House employee pulls gun on a customer during a dispute over eggs, according to Atlanta police reports
According to police reports, Candy Franklin, the alleged victim, said he complained to the employee, Angelic Patterson, because his food order was wrong on several occasions…”It all happened over cheese eggs. At first, they didn’t bring them to me. Then they brought me normal eggs and I said that I ordered eggs with cheese on it,” Franklin told the outlet. - Nov 2021 – 2 wounded in shooting at Mississippi Waffle House

I could keep going but you get the idea. I’m not saying you shouldn’t eat at Waffle House. I’m just saying maybe be ready for something to go down if you’re a regular. Clearly the people who work there aren’t strangers to violence.
Finally, there was a Christmas week argument at a different Waffle House, this one in Georgia, that resulted in two arrests.
According to Madison Police Department reports, both Alexis Shaianne Smith, 27, Madison, and Roderick Ramone Brown, 35, Madison, were arrested for disorderly conduct after they allegedly threatened a Waffle House employee…
When officers arrived, reports state, they observed several persons outside the restaurant “yelling.” Brown told officers that he had placed a to-go order and when he was given his order, he stated that the food in the order did not correspond to what he had requested…
The Waffle House manager told police that there were several children inside the restaurant when the incident occurred. She said she offered Brown a refund and as she and Brown were walking outside the restaurant, Smith allegedly took a swing at the manager.
Peace on earth, goodwill to men and get my order right or I’ll beat you to death.
