Gov. Brian Kemp (R-GA) said Thursday that there will be no special session of the Georgia State legislature to impeach Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, claiming attempting to do so could be unconstitutional.

Kemp said that despite his own feelings on Willis’s investigation into former President Donald Trump and his allies over allegedly working to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, he does not have the power to call a special session.
“We have a law in the state of Georgia that clearly outlines the legal steps that can be taken if constituents believe their local prosecutors are violating their oath by engaging in unethical or illegal behavior,” Kemp said during a news conference Thursday.
