Instead Cantor says he’s looking forward to helping Republicans keep the House and take back the Senate, saying he even planned to vote for the tea party challenger, David Brat, who unseated him.

“Listen, I want a Republican to hold this seat, of course, of course. This is about making sure we have a strong Republican majority in the House, I’m hoping we can take it in the Senate,” Cantor in an interview aired Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
