We've written a couple of posts this morning about what Donald Trump told Elon Musk. What did Musk tell Trump? As one might expect in a "marathon bull session" with Trump, the former president did most of the talking.
However, Musk did get in an important argument, albeit briefly. As a former center-Left voter who supported Barack Obama nearly twenty years ago, Musk has grown alarmed at the Democrat Party's massive shift to the radical Left -- and the media's attempts to cover it up. That's especially true in how the media has Winston Smithed Kamala Harris' track record and earlier positions, Musk argues.
"It's important for the public that maybe listen to this," Musk says, "to look at Kamala's track record before the last, like, month, and say, 'Is that a track record you agree with?' And I think if you're an independent moderate, you definitely would not agree with it." Musk continues by describing "an overnight propaganda attempt to rewrite history and make it seem like Kamala's moderate." Trump offers up the choice of Tim Walz as a running mate to confirm Musk's point, which is the context of this tweet:
That later led to Musk's formal endorsement of Trump, calling on all moderates to reject the Harris-Walz radical ticket before it's too late:
ELON: "My track record historically has been moderate. If not moderate, slightly left...this is to people out there who are in the moderate camp...I think you should support Donald Trump for president!"

So ... let's just stipulate that this isn't exactly a tough interview. It is, as Variety called it, a bit of a bull session between like-minded figures, or at least like-minded enough.
However, Musk has real reasons to emphasize this point about propaganda and silencing, because he found himself the target of it just for doing this event. The EU issued a warning to Musk about running afoul of its regulations on speech by letting Trump speak unedited:
European Commissioner for Internal Markets and Services Thierry Breton wrote on X that, "With great audience comes greater responsibility" and added, "As there is a risk of amplification of potentially harmful content in [the EU] in connection with events with major audience around the world, I sent this letter to @elonmusk."
"As the relevant content is accessible to EU users and being amplified also in our jurisdiction, we cannot exclude potential spillovers in the EU," Breton wrote of the Musk-Trump interview. "Therefore, we are monitoring the potential risks in the EU associated with the dissemination of content that may incite violence, hate and racism in conjunction with major political – or societal – events around the world, including debates and interviews in the context of elections."
Breton reminded Musk of X's due diligence obligations under the EU's Digital Services Act (DSA), which requires platforms like X to moderate illegal content and content that is deemed a risk to public security.
David wrote more extensively about this earlier, so be sure to read his post. However, the problem isn't just legal threats from overseas. Our friend Salena Zito scoffed at American journalists criticizing Musk for being too soft to challenge Trump in an interview while the entire industry has given Harris a full hall pass for reversing every position she ever took while saying nothing in explanation:
There are some journalists letting harris speak all kinds of falsehoods and there appears to be few in the mainstream legacy media fact checking all or any of her info.

it is though the entire legacy media has become a platform for Harris to come out and say whatever she wants. https://t.co/rAw0VGxFN5
Not just some journalists, but most American journalists -- and their editors and publishers as well. We're starting to see some cracks in the Silence of the Kams conspiracy, but not much action from the ground up.
And don't even get me started on Joe Biden's serial lies and fabulism, most of which went either unchallenged or excused for most of Biden's political career. Biden was serial plagiarist that the press painted as avuncular and reliable, and a vicious thin-skinned demagogue who they reported as full of empathy. Why? Because the Protection Racket Media operates on its own political agenda, which closely aligns with Biden and Harris.
Twitter is one of the few platforms that operate outside that leftist-elite bubble, as are we. Musk knows damned well what he's talking about here.
That's why we continue to urge readers to support independent media platforms such as ours. The Protection Racket Media and their "misinformation police" want to stamp out such voices in order to direct their propaganda without challenge. We hope we can gather as many allies as possible to keep all of these issues in the public square – and indeed to preserve the public square at all.
