Xavier Becerra has a very good shot at becoming the next Governor of California.
Which, you have to admit, would be very California. He was widely known in the Biden administration to be horrifically incompetent, and his performance in the job confirms the impression of his colleagues, who themselves have extremely low standards.

A senior Biden-Harris administration alum just KNEECAPPED Xavier Becerra after the California gubernatorial debate, saying that there is wide Cabinet Secretary-level agreement that he was "not an effective HHS Secretary."
Xochitl Hinojosa, a Biden DOJ and DNC alum: "After working in Joe Biden's administration, I do not trust Xavier Becerra [to stand up to Donald Trump].
Hinojosa continues: "When I saw him in the administration and I think a lot of people did and people understand this. It's he was not effective in governing. And I think that a lot of people in the Biden administration are talking about this because they realize that he was not an effective HHS Secretary. And if you ask any cabinet secretary, they would tell you the same thing. And so I think that there is a I think people recognize this and I think this is why Tom Steyer has gone to the top."
CNN's Abby Phillip confirms: "This is that's not this is not the first time that I've heard that, right? So what Xochi's talking about is a real thing.
Wow! Not even his own compadre endorses or supports Xavier Becerra lmao

Steven Hilton for California Governor! https://t.co/JksgeuLI3u
Despite his manifest incompetence, Becerra is currently leading among Democrats to take one of the slots in the jungle primary and likely become California's next governor, largely on the back of an endorsement by CHILRA, the radical left-wing group of Hispanic activists who use state money to push politicians and their pro-illegal agenda.
On the other hand this is cringe-inducingly bad from Becerra pic.twitter.com/sjse6xpRqm

The big obstacle to Becerra's coronation after the kneecapping of Eric Swalwell, likely by a Becerra ally, is the incompetence that everyone in Washington talks about behind closed doors. He was a DEI hire in the Biden administration, and as HHS Secretary, he was widely seen as AWOL, the "silent secretary."
That incompetence was on full display in his interview with KTLA, which begins with his making clear that he wanted it to be a puff piece, which he certainly did not get. The killer shot was being asked to explain the failure of HHS to protect the unaccompanied minors placed under his care.
"Some of the kids probably because they needed to earn some money"

No 14 year old kid needs to make some money. They need to find an education. It's their parents/sponsors that need to earn some money. That there leads me to believe he's trying to justify illegal child labor
Ouch.
The entire interview was embarrassing, and the reason it was is clear: the man is an empty suit, whose every success was handed to him, as so often happens in California, where the politicians are hand-picked, leaving you with great geniuses such as Kamala Harris and Karen Bass.
Still, Becerra is currently in the catbird seat when it comes to approval among Democrats, who apparently don't care about minor things like competence. Independents think he is a lightweight, and place him even below Porter.
But, of course, Democrats own California politics, due to their extensive political machine that churns out the votes on command.

Becerra, the leader of the Party of Compassion™, wants you to know that it's OK for unaccompanied migrant kids to wind up working in meat packing because, well, they needed the money, and that they didn't exactly "lose" those kids; they just didn't try to find them.
Xavier Becerra gets called out by fellow California Democrat Antonio Villaraigosa for lying about the kids he lost under Biden:

This is what passes for serious politicians in California.
