Lies, Damned Lies, and Democrats Speaking

J.B. Pritzker is not only the Governor of Illinois but also one of the most talked-about potential candidates for president in 2028.

He is also a disgusting liar, and provably so.

Nicolle Wallace is an idiot, granted, but she is also a former White House Communications Director for George W. Bush, an employee of one of the largest and most influential news organizations in America, and an MSNBC anchor. It is no exaggeration to say that she is one of the most influential people in political circles, believe it or not.

She is also a disgusting liar.

This conversation between the two is gobsmacking to those of us who live in what is colloquially called "reality." It has the same ring of truth that "Joe Biden is sharp as a tack" has, and is even more easily refuted.

But none of that matters to about a third of the country, including the vast majority of people in the political and cultural elite. The mere fact that something is true or false has no bearing on what they think, feel, or say about anything. J.B. Pritzker is saying what he thinks he needs to say at the particular moment he says it, and that he said it will have no bearing on what he says at any other moment.

You can find countless—and in this particular case, I am not being hyperbolic, I literally could go on much longer than either you or I would find useful—examples of Democrats and media folks comparing Trump to Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini. It is so common that for a while, I referred to Trump as HITLERSTALINMUSSOLINI as a joke.

In just the past few months, the Democrats have made a mantra of referring to ICE as the Gestapo, which is just a minor variation on the same theme.

"Existential threat to democracy" was the theme of Joe Biden's 5-year-long run against Donald Trump, and his excuse for violating just about every "norm" in trying to take his opponent out.

Yet now, suddenly and for some reason, Democrats are making the claim that they NEVER compared Trump to Hitler. It's absurd to say they did! Trump is the one who uses elevated rhetoric. You know, the kind of rhetoric that Hitler used.

Democrats are subdued in their criticism, despite the provocations.

Yet even the ballroom discussion is all Hitler, all the time, with some on the left. If Donald Trump is for it, Hitler would have been too.

On any given night, you could probably find a Democrat or a nighttime "comic" comparing Trump to Hitler, yet these same people look to Nicolle Wallace and Pritzker and nod their heads sagely, no matter what comes out of their mouths.

Democrats have done little else besides compare Trump to Hitler. It has been their only claim to electoral relevance for nearly a decade.

Except when they throw in Putin. I do have to give them that. They do love to compare Trump to Putin, although they also claim that HITLERSTALINMUSSOLINI is also a Putin Puppet.

I'm not sure that makes sense, but when you don't have to worry about telling the truth, making sense, or anything having to do with the real world, who cares?

There is no way to argue with such people, and I think that is one of the attractions to people on the left. Once they are liberated from having to deal with reality, anything is possible.

Not coincidentally, this is the foundational principle of Critical Theory, which posits that language and words define reality, and not the other way around. Words are used to gain and wield power, and little things like correspondence with a real world are unimportant.

The real world is an illusion; the Narrative™ is reality.

: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
