If there is anything we can surmise about the deal cut to get Biden to drop his bid for the presidential nomination, it's that in exchange for bowing out, everybody in the Democratic Party would praise him to the heavens.
Kamala Harris would run as a younger Joe Biden, and would repeat endlessly that he is George Washington reborn.
Kamala Harris says:

“My presidency will NOT be a continuation of Joe Biden’s Presidency.”
From DAY ONE the Biden presidency was referred to as the Biden-Harris Administration.
So she just admitted her administration was a failure, otherwise why not continue business as usual? pic.twitter.com/B7K4vTYQkt
Every time Harris has even hinted that she will separate herself from Biden, he has given her a one-two punch: first, the bear hug, in which he makes clear she was in on every decision and that there is no functional difference between him and Harris, and then he steps on her message by deprecating something she is doing or saying.
Say, his carpet bombing her message about Ron DeSantis politicizing hurricane relief.
In her train wreck interview with Brett Baier, she said very few things that stand out, but one that did was her trying to separate herself from Biden again.
Is he going to retaliate, and if so, how and how hard?
Jill Biden famously hates Kamala Harris, and still believes that Joe is the only candidate who could have beaten Donald Trump. This proposition has yet to be proven--Biden clearly would have lost this year barring the death of Donald Trump (two people have tried and failed so far to take him out), and Harris has yet to lose at the polls.
Both Joe and Jill clearly resent having been done dirty by the Democratic Party. After all, he gave them almost everything on their wish list, and they stabbed him in the back. Harris was Brutus to his Caesar, and he owes her nothing. He may have residual loyalty to the party or want to avoid being blamed for defeat, but other than those factors nothing stands in the way of his nuking Kamala Harris. Especially since both of them think she will lose.
People are speculating about this conversation between Biden and Obama, suggesting they were discussing Kamala Harris' chances. Who knows? But it sure seems plausible.
I found the full exchange between Obama and Biden at Ethel Kennedy's funeral — a VERY tense conversation 20 days out from the election.

If anyone can read lips, please let me know what they're saying. It's probably good. pic.twitter.com/BIZTL61SHT
Whether the conversation was really about Harris is irrelevant. If I were Joe I would be both pissed and certain that Harris is on the path to defeat, and wouldn't be at all happy that she is making a move to distance herself from me. It violates the deal, and the only thing Biden has left is shaping his legacy. He wants nothing but praise, especially since he has always felt underrated.
NEW — Biden tells Obama ‘she’s not as strong as me’ — and ex-prez agrees ‘that’s true’ at Ethel Kennedy funeral https://t.co/IdKRnHrwiP

Biden is famously sensitive to slights, is Tim Walz-like in puffing himself up, and is unlikely to tolerate Harris throwing shade on him.
I think he will nuke her. Whether it is a tactical nuke or the Tsar Bomba I can't say, but expect something coming out of the White House and/or the Harris campaign that makes her look bad. Already the leaks out of both are not good for Harris, and the Pennsylvania Democrats are grousing.
Biden will likely egg this on, and perhaps find a way to punish her himself.Watch for it to happen.
