California's SB 1414 is a pretty simple bill, yet it has generated a lot of controversy because, well...California--the state that proves that the Biblical story of Sodom and Gomorrah was real.

The bill's description, as introduced by State Senator Shannon Grove (It has been amended to water it down some by Democrats), provided by the Senate, is simple enough:

Under existing law, a person who solicits, or who agrees to engage in, or who engages in, any act of prostitution with the intent to receive compensation, money, or anything of value from another person is guilty of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

Under existing law, if the person solicited was a minor, and the person who solicited the minor knew or reasonably should have known that the person solicited was a minor, the offense is punishable by imprisonment in the county jail for a mandatory minimum of 2 days and not to exceed one year, by a fine not to exceed $10,000 or by both such fine and imprisonment.

This bill would instead, if the person solicited was a minor, regardless of whether or not the person knew or reasonably should have known that the person solicited was a minor, make the offense punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for 2, 3, or 4 years, and a fine not to exceed $25,000.

Bottom line? It changes soliciting a minor to have sex with them (prostitution of a minor) from a misdemeanor to a felony. Hard to see how that could be controversial, right?

Except in California, that is, where many Democrats and the alphabet crowd are worried that it will impact minorities and especially the Queer community disproportionately.

I don't know about you, but that seems like quite the admission.

Here's a different way to put it: members of the alphabet mafia are degenerate groomers and disproportionately likely to solicit minors for sex, so let's not punish the traffickers in children more than we already do.

WTF is WRONG with you people?

Democrats are in a tizzy about the bill because it puts them in a bind. They don't want to outright ADMIT that they are fine with pedos purchasing sex from kids is OK, but they don't want to punish the actual sex offenders. So they have been on a mission to water down the bill.

Scott Weiner, whom I have called the "most dangerous state legislator in the country," has been on a crusade to make having sex with children easier for quite a while, and he is unsurprisingly one of the most powerful and respected legislators in California. He helped water down the bill because, well, he is a degenerate.

Democratic committee members forced Republican author State Sen. Shannon Grove to make changes to Senate Bill 1414 to only allow the felony classification for the purchase of minors under the age of 16. The Senate Public Safety Committee passed the bill 4-0 on the condition of those changes.

SB 1414 would classify the crime as a felony, carrying a maximum penalty of up to four years in prison and a $25,000 fine. Currently, purchasing or soliciting a child for sex is a misdemeanor with a maximum penalty of up to a year in jail, or a minimum of two days in jail, along with a $10,000 fine.

Democrats on the dais, against Grove's will, held a vote on the changes before voting to move the amended proposal forward. The vote was moved by State Sen. Nancy Skinner, D-Berkeley. Skinner, Sen. Scott Wiener and committee chairwoman Aisha Wahab voted to move forward with the amendments as Grove watched in disbelief.

Her voice shaking, Grove said she is on the record declining those amendments.

"To force these amendments on me in front of survivors, to water this down to avoid 16 and 17-year-olds," Grove said.

Even some Democrats are fed up. We are talking about purchasing sex from CHILDREN. How is it possible that anybody could oppose imposing harsher penalties on people this depraved? The penalties in the bill are still too low, not too high. A maximum of 4 years? Come on!

A bill this simple and commonsensical shouldn't be controversial, and in the general public it isn't. Ask people on the street whether purchasing sex with children should be a felony and the answer is an overwhelming "Yes!"

Of course, there are plenty of members of the gay community who are appalled by the defense of child prostitution, but the leftist spokespeople for the alphabet community are happy to stand up and defend the practice.

After all, according to them, the alphabet mafia would be disproportionately hurt by not being able to buy sex from kids.

If you live in California, I feel sorry for you. Your state is run by degenerates, and if God were still in the business of destroying cities or flooding the Earth, the West Coast would fall into the ocean.

California was and should still be a paradise. Few places on the planet are as blessed with natural beauty and talented people.

Unfortunately, the government is run by insane people.
