Frank Oz is a legend.
He is the original voice of the Cookie Monster, Miss Piggy, Bert, Fozzy Bear...and the iconic Yoda. He has also acted, and has a long list of movies he has directed, and not just in the puppet genre.
Frank Oz is pissed off right now, and the target is Sesame Street's use of Cookie Monster to amplify Biden's messaging.
I'm shocked to see a news article on Cookie Monster talking about "shrinkflation". Jim would NEVER have allowed this. The SS Muppets need to live in their own pure world. Not our world. What has happened to the integrity of the character and the integrity of Sesame Workshop?

Oz, it seems, is too old to get with the program. And the program is backing Biden, who, along with other Leftists immediately glommed onto the Cookie Monster's tweet to push Biden's fake economics.
It was clearly coordinated with the White House, and the MSM picked up the messaging and ran with it.
Your liberal media in action. ABC's 'Good Morning America' did a puff piece on the Cookie Monster tweet about shrinkflation, touting replies from Democrat Senators, Bob Casey and Sherrod Brown.

At least ABC did admit there was a controversy about what is causing shrinkflation.
The White House used the tweet to amplify their messaging:
C is for consumers getting ripped off.

President Biden is calling on companies to put a stop to shrinkflation. https://t.co/4bkX8o3irI
Bob Casey actually tried to raise money off of the Cookie Monster tweet in his response to it, which is rather gross.

A lot of Oz' followers on Twitter took him to task, pointing to the fact that Sesame Street has always been socially aware and tilted Left. I haven't got a clue about Frank Oz's politics, although I assume he tilts left, but obviously, he has a point. It's one thing to push the whole peace, love, and understanding version of liberalism and quite another to engage in what amounts to partisan politics.

This is partisan politics. Spelled with a P and another P.
Not to mention that Sesame Street happens to get government funding, and it's rather unseemly to have a kids' show funded by the government endorse the president-in-power's messaging. Shrinkflation and corporate greed are part of Biden's campaign messaging.
It is unlikely that the Cookie Monster's core audience--kids--are going to hop onto the Biden electoral bandwagon, although these days, there is ballot harvesting and no voter ID, so who knows how many votes Biden can harvest from the under-8 demographic.
But almost every voter under 60 has watched at least some episodes of Sesame Street, including Biden's political base. So when Cookie Monster shows up in the MSM "endorsing" Biden's spin, it's pretty hard to deny that this was aimed at voters well above Kindergarten age.
