I am old enough to remember when the governors of the Red States were a bunch of racists because they opposed illegal immigration.

The border was secure. The immigrants were refugees. Blue cities and states were welcoming sanctuaries inviting in the huddled masses yearning to breathe free.

Emma Lazarus was our guiding moral leader in those halcyon days.

Now, not so much.

Gee, I wonder what happened to change The Narrative™?

New York City has a migrant problem, so it is OK to notice that something ain’t quite right about Joe Biden’s border policies.

It has been obvious to anybody with half a brain that Biden opened the border as soon as he entered office, and that this was going to be a huge problem for everybody who had to deal with it.

But in the first year plus of the Biden reign, nobody in the Blue states gave a damn, and the MSM is based in New York. They joined the pile-on aimed at Governors Abbot and DeSantis, accusing them of the most heinous racist impulses, and going crazy when they both started busing and flying illegal immigrants to the Blue states.

Democrats aren’t supposed to be required to practice as they preach. They want to virtue signal, not actually do what they want others to.

Yeah, well, guess what? As soon as they had to deal with the problem it became a crisis. First, it was Mayor Adams of New York. Then others began to whisper. And now Democrats are beginning to shout about how things have to change.

It’s not that they changed their minds–they always knew that the border was open. It’s that they are paying a price for the open border, and they don’t like it.

This was supposed to be a problem for Texas, not New York. Texans are bad and deserve this. New Yorkers said the right things, so they should get a pass.

Well, now New York’s hospitals are overwhelmed. Apparently, there are limits.

Who could have guessed?

Border states have been screaming to high heaven about how their own social services were overwhelmed, and there was not even the slightest interest in the problem. After all, they are racist, so why pay attention to their whining?

New Yorkers are GOOD people though, so it suddenly matters that there is a massive invasion going on.
