Via Reason, we can read this one of two ways. Maybe it’s just an experiment in social psychology to see what sort of silliness a person will agree to in order to placate an earnest activist. You’re walking across campus, your mind elsewhere, and suddenly a dude with a clipboard comes running up and asks you to endorse his cause. Maybe he’s serious, maybe he isn’t. Are you going to stand there debating him when you have somewhere to be or are you going to make his day by signing his petition and then forgetting all about it? He seems so enthusiastic. Why not humor the guy?
That’s one read. The other read: Millennials are free-speech-hating fascists, especially at Yale, and should all be deported.
Which way are we going on this one?
