It's not like President Trump and Tom Homan haven't been signaling pret-tee clearly that Chicago was in for an ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) storm of its own, all the bloviating, blustering, and posturing of the two Windy City gasbags most responsible aside.
This is what the governor of Illinois, the porculent pontificating prince of poltroonery, J.B. Pritzker, had to say in the face of legitimate immigration enforcement activity by federal law enforcement agencies.

As of September 15th, there had already been 1500 folks shot in the city, and some 288 people had lost their lives to the city's violence.

The cognitive dissonance is off the charts.
So is the delusional rhetoric being spewed by the two mental incompetents whipping their fellow progressive loons within the city into a foaming at the mouth anti-ICE froth, as well as urging the most radical elements into action against the entirely legal federal law enforcement efforts. All whilst keeping their own pudgy knuckles dry and unscathed.
Two weeks ago, demonstrators had appeared and staged a sit-in that went pretty well for them. They got to virtue-signal, hold their signs for a couple of hours, and no one was hurt or arrested.
About 200 demonstrators staged a sit-in, blocking apparent ICE agents from coming in and out of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency’s Broadview processing center on Friday.
Demonstrators referred to the facility as an illegal “de facto detention center.”
“The reason [ICE is] in Broadview is because they know Chicago doesn’t want ICE in our city,” said Rachel Cohen, one of the organizers of the demonstration.
No injuries or arrests were reported during the largely peaceful protest.
Demonstrators, who showed up about 6:30 a.m., remained outside the facility until around 11:30 a.m. They vowed to return every Friday, when transports usually occur.
With Johnson ratcheting up the heat in his calls for resistance, Priztker's bald mobilizing for action, and the two of them howling about mass protests and disruption, the minions answered the call this morning at that same ICE detention center in Broadview.
Things got spicy, FAST.

One of the guys these mean old ICE types have swept up is this fellow, a Lithuanian illegal named Artoras Pivoris, who has been quite a busy guy and, sadly, took advantage of an immigration judge turning him loose with an order to appear.
He never did.
ICE went and found him. You'll be tickled to hear he was a trucker in his spare time between criminal activities. However, the truck came in handy for those, too, sometimes.

The active company, AMA Logistics Inc, has 18 trucks and was filed 15 years old. No changes in contact info.

The article - Copper Wire Heist Suspect Arrested in Bolingbrook.
“In 2015, Indiana authorities charged Pivoris with stealing two truckloads of copper wire worth $320,000, according to ABC 57 in Indiana. Pivoris allegedly used a fake ID to pose as a truck driver and pick up loads of copper wire on Jan. 8 and Jan. 9, 2015. He was reportedly found out when the trucks never reached their intended destination in North Carolina.”
This is who the boisterous crowd blocking the Broadview center's gates so valiantly, while slashing tires and screaming cusswords, wants to keep in the country.
The IL Lt Governor was there waving her little fighting fist in the air, too.

...Illinois Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton was one of several local officials present at the protest. She said the crowd would not disperse while they are exercising their First Amendment rights.
"They want us to be afraid. They want us to step back and kind of go into our little corners and not do anything so that this president can make a military presence on American soil normalized. We're not going to let that happen," Stratton said.
Having more Arturases and the other criminals in the neighborhood, instead of ICE taking them away, 'makes us safe,' swore another protestor.
..."ICE doesn’t make me or my community safer," demonstrator Britt Hodgdon said in a statement. "If exercising my right to free speech gets me tear gassed, then I’m not safe. If my neighbors go missing into a deportation system where their families can’t find out where they’ve been taken, then my neighborhood is not safe."
I would bet Arturas didn't live in quite the same neighborhood, but that would make me a cynic, and I'm trying to do better.
