DNC Operatives CBS Working Overtime to Earn Trump's Ire

Ever since they really showed their hand with the surgical touch done on Kamala Harris's answer during the infamous 60 Minutes interview - and doubled down by refusing to release transcripts so the public can see the extent of the reconstructive word salad work - CBS has declared an open and all-out war on Donald Trump. and been unashamed and blatant in their Harris campaign boosterism.

I have been watching every evening, particularly with October waning - Trump ascendant and the Harris campaign imploding under its own lightweight - as the CBS Evening News (captained by anchor Norah O'Donnell) became ever more strident, more panicked, and appallingly shrill in damn near an MSNBC-induced hysteria.

Mid-month, after taking multiple hits for both the doctored Harris interview and then doing the same slice and dice to an interview with Speaker Johnson, the CBS Evening News opened with and dove right into the accusations being hurled by the Harris campaign.

...Our jaws hit the floor last night at Norah O'Donnell's ne'er-so-subtle Trump jab in her opening headlines (with a purely coincidental - I'm sure - semi-rational soundbite of Harris added for good measure).

Then, the very first story of the evening they covered was:

TRUMP IS AN UNHINGED LUNATIC, SWAYS TO MUSIC AND SUCH A LIAR.

Seriously. Listen to this three minutes. Or...at least try to.

The McDonald's stunt, aimed at what everyone believes is another Harris tall tale, enraged them.

HOW DARE HE

...And then there were the doyennes of campaign legitimacy, CBS News. Their evening broadcast made sure to not only call it a "political stunt" (which they did not say about Harris barnstorming in church with Stevie Wonder for her birthday) but also added some commentary on why he was there.

...working the fryer to try and claim without any evidence that Vice President Kamala Harris didn't work at a McDonald's while in college as she said she did..."

The already-debunked-and-disgraced-prior-to-airtime Jeffrey Goldberg fictional Atlantic hit piece became their outrage of the evening five days ago.

"...After that campaign stop, a new report, that Trump used the 'F' word to describe a murdered Mexican-American soldier. That story is that Trump scoffed at the price of a funeral Trump had offered to pay for the funeral of Private Vanessa Guillen, something the Trump team denies..."

At the very end of the report, after first ensuring they'd read all the juicy, inflammatory language and accusations from the Goldberg hit piece aloud, they do take a moment to note the sister of the dead soldier "has said her sister's death is being exploited for politics" and "several of the former president's White House aides said The Atlantic's article is absolutely false."

Then, boom. Right into reports on Obama and Harris campaigning, with nary a negative to be found.

Curiously, while they briefly mentioned Vanessa Guillén’s sister disputed Goldberg's fairy tale, they couldn't be bothered to mention the murdered soldier's family joining Trump in support at a rally just a few days after the vile smear was released and foamed over.

...During a campaign stop in Texas, Mr. Trump vehemently denied being opposed to paying for the funeral of Specialist Vanessa Guillén, a Fort Hood soldier who was murdered in 2020, when Mr. Trump was president, because of the cost. He was joined at the event in Austin, Texas, by some of Specialist Guillén’s relatives.

Of course, being even-handed would have plum busted that narrative...and taken time from fawning over Harris.

'Fawning' is almost too tame a word for what CBS and O'Donnell have done every single night. Without fail, minutes of anti-Trump broadcast airtime, which also invariably contains Harris clips supporting their anti-Trump theme, is followed by a gushy love letter to the Harris campaign. There is never - I repeat NEVER - anything that could be remotely construed as negative about the candidate herself.

It's so obvious and in-your-face.

And last night, didn't they have themselves a fine wig-out time hyperventilating over the Trump Nazi rally and one stupid Puerto Rico joke.

RACIST! SEXIST! AY DIOS MIO

...TONIGHT, the fallout from racist and sexist comments at Donald Trump's Madison Square Garden Rally...

...Tonight there's fresh backlash about Trump's rally in New York City on Sunday. Including from many Republicans trying to distance themselves from the vile, racist and sexist comments that were made. Tonight CBS News has learned the campaign claims it struck jokes that contained the 'c-word' we have new reporting tonight about that vetting process. In addition to Trump's unusual attacks on Vice President Harris the rally featured a comedian who repeatedly insulted Puerto Rico and today is refusing to apologize. Puerto Ricans are American citizens, the island is a US territory...Both candidates are vying for the Lainto votes, and we were with Vice President Harris for much of the weekend...

And the broadcast goes off in tirades about Trump - despicable him - and raptures over poor, insulted Puerto Ricans and Harris.

A sample - you'll need insulin and an urp-bag.

About O'Donnell being with "Harris for "much of the weekend. Do you know how that happened?

Pretty much how you'd expect. Harris is tanking, CBS held the fort about not releasing the transcripts from her disaster of a 60 Minutes interview, so why not tap that well again when she has to pretend to do the "serious" interview everyone keeps demanding and of which she is incapable?

As I said when I put the announcement in our headline section this weekend, "Imagine that!"

"CBS Evening News" anchor and managing editor Norah O'Donnell will interview Vice President Kamala Harris in Kalamazoo, Mich., this weekend for a CBS News exclusive.

O'Donnell will join the Democratic presidential candidate on the campaign trail in Houston and Kalamazoo to provide viewers with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the final days of her campaign.

What a revolting, extended tongue bath from the Democratic CBS lap dogs.

Of course, these weren't the only offensive (in both the strategy and stench sense) moves CBS made for Harris's benefit this weekend, not by a long shot.

Tom Homan, Trump's former acting director of ICE, sat for a 60 Minutes interview, and he's now accusing the network of using an editing scalpel on him. Only to pare away salient facts - not to help him look good.

...Homan says 60 Minutes came into the intvw w a pre-determined angle about fascism, but that it edited out what he said about deporting terrorists caught crossing and violent criminal illegal aliens and gang members.

That includes, he says, editing out his info on deporting criminal illegal aliens and gang members accused of murder, rape, armed robbery, kidnapping, sex and drug trafficking and more.

60 Minutes still has not released its transcript of its controversial interview with Kamala Harris, where it edited out her “word salads.” It has released transcripts of its interview with Trump, former AG Bill Barr & Fed Chair Jerome Powell....

Reading comments under threads, I am getting the impression that Homan did not have someone independently taping the interview, and if that is true, what an unbelievably stupid thing to do knowing how they operate. That blows my mind.

But the anti-Trump bias is blatant, pervasive, and quantifiably real. It's not major dad and I being overly sensitive with conservative hurt feelings every evening.

TV Hits Trump With 85% Negative News vs. 78% Positive Press for Harris

One week before Election Day, a new analysis from the Media Research Center finds that broadcast evening news coverage of the 2024 presidential race has been the most lopsided in history. Since July, ABC, CBS and NBC have treated Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris to 78 percent positive coverage, while these same networks have pummeled former Republican President Donald Trump with 85 percent negative coverage. (See Methodology explanation at the end of this post.)

The difference in coverage between the two candidates is far greater than in 2016, when both Trump and then-challenger Hillary Clinton received mostly negative coverage (91% negative for Trump, vs. 79% negative for Clinton). It’s even greater than in 2020, when Joe Biden was treated to 66 percent positive coverage, vs. 92 percent negative for Trump.

...■ Flooding the zone with Trump controversies: Much as they did in 2016, 2020, and throughout his presidency, the networks anointed themselves as the Trump Police, scolding and correcting the former President whenever they decided he’d crossed one of their lines.

Of the 753 minutes of evening news airtime devoted to Trump since July 21, nearly one-third (230 minutes, or 31%) has been about personal controversies. This compares to barely five percent of Harris’s airtime (28 minutes, out of a total 583 minutes of coverage) spent on similar topics.

The schweet thing is that none of it is working.

NONE OF THE LIES OR THE GUSHY GUSH

Voters are rejecting being told what to think and believe, and even with the old-time mainstream media fighting a rear-guard action as the Harris campaign withdraws and redirects from battleground state after state...

...there's no selling this sad sack of used goods to the American people.

Voters know what they know and exactly what they are going to do.

There's no lipstick left in the tube for networks to smear, hard as they're still trying.

I have no doubt angry and abused voters will be demanding an accounting for the years of biased media manipulation and malfeasance if we prevail.

It'll be about damn time, too.
