Well, I have to admit, just like everyone else, major dad and I had the best damn time watching the Trumpster do his thing at McDonald's. The folks working there looked like they were having a great time (as opposed to dog and pony show glum), and the president was just effervescent no matter where he was in the restaurant.
He is hilarious. He is enjoying every second of this and I guarantee you all the employees will come away with saying that he is an amazing guy.

What a trip to have him in your store.
I think he got the job! 🍟🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/nMBybHRYF1

And that was just some of the truly fun videos from the restaurant.

People went googoo over him.
But great googly moogly. Tell you what - I had no idea the crowds lining the street were even there, less mind as massive and rowdily buoyant as they were.

Wowsahs. Thousands of people packed the sides of the road, ten deep or more, and clustered around the Mickey D's.
And I have to say Benny Johnson's right - I can't imagine we'll ever see the likes of this again in our lifetime.

We will never have another president like Trump. pic.twitter.com/fClirwyqud
Trump even wished Kamala a happy birthday and said he would buy her flowers.
Everyone seemed to be in such a good mood yesterday. Trump's brilliant McDonald's visit was a good-humored masterstroke that people will talk about for years to come, with smiles on their faces, and has already spawned memes galore.
This image, captured at the end of Trumps shift at McDonald’s, is amazing. Look at how happy everyone is and one satisfied customer is giving him a bear hug. This is an iconic image. pic.twitter.com/cZh9ka131b

I mean, you just wanna cry, it's so hilarious.
Then he capped off the night at the Steelers game.
Now, the whole Trump campaign was hard at work - I mean, even his running mate, JD Vance, popped into a local place before the Packers game to draw some brewskis for locals, and met a rousing reception.

He even worked the tailgate circuit.

These two are nothing if not personable - people want to be around them and seem to really enjoy events, especially when Trump is front and center of something so downhome 'everyman.'
That's why the McDonald's visit resonates and makes people smile thinking of him in that apron at the window or the fry station.
Well...most people do. Most normal, rational, everyday people.
It really did upset the usual suspects.
Some called it "disrespectful pandering."
Walz Trump working at McDonald's was disrespectful to the workers.

No Tim, what’s disrespectful is offering $750 to Americans who have lost everything, then turning around to give Ukraine billions more. pic.twitter.com/6pm5TNMAPg
Some cable potato heads sniffed that it was screened and staged (although why it would be so, with a guy they've already tried to kill twice, I can't imagine...), so it should count for nothing.

And then there were the doyennes of campaign legitimacy, CBS News. Their evening broadcast made sure to not only call it a "political stunt" (which they did not say about Harris barnstorming in church with Stevie Wonder for her birthday) but also added some commentary on why he was there.
...working the fryer to try and claim without any evidence that Vice President Kamala Harris didn't work at a McDonald's while in college as she said she did..."
Now, if I were CBS, and I'm not, thank God, I'd maybe kind of start somewhere to dial back on the unfounded, biased vitriol they seem duty-bound to lard into any report on Trump.
However, I do try to be fair, so I will call NBC out for the exact same thing.
NBC's @GarrettHaake : Trump "briefly work[ed] the fry cooker at a McDonald's...passing drive-through orders to customers prescreened by the campaign...but also using the backdrop to claim without evidence that Harris isn't being truthful about her time working at a McDonald's… pic.twitter.com/8anQYhZSu3

Trump's extraordinarily appealing stint with an apron on had to be seen as enormously damaging within just a few hours of it happening for all of the major media organs to go ape-Schlitz with damn near the verbatim same line of attack - "without any evidence."
The New York Times did their sworn duty to the donkey flag...
A short thread on why this is one of the most cartoonishly bad articles out there, starting with the title. The tired "without evidence" trope doesn't make sense. What evidence could prove Harris didn't work at McDonald's? It's trying to prove a negative. 1/ pic.twitter.com/jfmvn14nFo
— Judge Glock (@judgeglock) October 21, 2024
...and this Manhattan Institute fellow eviscerates the narrative in his thread.
Harris's story is so much vapor in a balloon, and Trump's constant needling had already been close to popping it, but after yesterday?
🚨 The video of Trump working the McDonald’s Drive Thru has crossed 40 MILLION views on the Team Trump TikTok.

Her rumored McDonald's apron is starting to have the rancid fryer stench of Walz's combat tour.
At least he has pictures of himself in a uniform.
The Trump visit was very real yesterday, smiling in that apron with all those smiling faces around him and the happy folks who practically climbed out of their cars to shake his hand as he worked the drive-thru.
Trump is real.
And has a real, tangible connection to voters, which must be terrifying to a media that can no longer control the message and a Harris campaign that depends on control for its very survival.

And I say that without any evidence whatsoever.
Just got, well...you know.
