Jamaal Bowman like "Everyone thinking I pulled the metal handle in the red case on purpose is a GOP NAZI"

Charles Rex Arbogast

Oh, wait a minute, WAIT A MINUTE.

Before we get all huffy about using “Nazi,” I didn’t.

I was going to report that that bastion of common sense, cheery personality, overwhelming intelligence, and social adeptness, Rep Jamaal Bowman, himself, had used it but I see I would have had to correct that report.

Sly ex-school principal that he is, the NY rep has only suggested to fellow Democrats that they utilize it while defending him.

Whew. Glad I got that straight.

Rep. Jamaal Bowman is circulating a list of talking points to fellow Democrats in a bid to stop the burgeoning GOP push to punish him after he set off a House fire alarm during Saturday’s chaotic spending votes.

The New York Democrat’s press secretary sent a memo on Monday afternoon to all House Democratic offices requesting that they defend Bowman for the flap over the alarm, which has prompted a Republican push to sanction him. A copy of the office’s communique was obtained by POLITICO.

One suggested response from Bowman’s office to questions about the incident:

I believe Congressman Bowman when he says this was an accident. Republicans need to instead focus their energy on the Nazi members of their party before anything else.”

I’d hate to cast aspersions on such a towering icon of restraint under pressure.

The “messaging guidance” from the Congressman’s office also gets a nice shot in – as a suggested line defending him – taking aim in at the “multiple insurrectionists” still floating around Congress while a simple public servant like Bowman was just rushing to do his job.

Just a simple man rushing to do an important job, and taking responsibility.

Except he isn’t because Nazis, insurrectionists, and Trump’s Big Lie.

Ever seen this guy in action? Then you’ll know what I mean. He’s half the brains of Hank Johnson with twice the beef and bluster.

Oh, now – dang it. We have an update.

MISTAKES WERE MADE

How peculiar.

Bowman is calling fellow Democrats to say he didn’t actually approve the statement, according to one person familiar with the conversations.

Wait, WHUT? Was he rushing somewhere again, and his staff thought this was a go…oh.

Someone in another Dem office leaked this disaster of an email with its Google doc attachment to the press, and it must have really set off a five alarmer for them to shut it down this fast.

Or try to.

MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY

Oh, gracious goodness. Those darn staffers. Knowing mild-mannered, soft-spoken Bowman, not a soul would believe he’d ever okay something like this messaging – no, sirree, Bob.

Never use the term except in the – what was that again?

Oh, yeah – “precise definition.” He’s not that kinda guy, America.

‘Tis to laugh.

The defense that Dems are willing to offer for Bowman have been as epically stupid and vacuous as Bowman’s pulling the fire alarm handle.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hits Republicans for tearing into Jamaal Bowman after he pulled fire alarm

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., chided House GOP lawmakers for not going after embattled Rep. George Santos R-N.Y., with the same voracity they have for her fellow progressive, Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., after he pulled a fire alarm in a House office building.

Reacting to GOP calls to expel Bowman from Congress, Ocasio-Cortez said in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union,” that House Republicans “should really check their own values” considering Santos, who has been accused of fraud, money laundering and lying to Congress and is still a lawmaker.

AOC, my child – besides the obvious apples and oranges comparison with a healthy side of “what-aboutism,” I have 3 syllables for all the posturing you pathetic clowns do on Santos: ME-NEN-DEZ.

Twice now.

Turns out Capitol Police aren’t feeding Fireman Bowman any slack, either. Maybe they didn’t get the memo.

…Capitol Police have opened their own investigation into the incident. The department released a statement later Monday saying “a man” was seen trying to exit a door in the Cannon House Office Building and then pulled a fire alarm.

“USCP officers had previously placed signs with clear language that explained the door was secured and marked as an emergency exit only,” the department said.

Nazis, obviously.

Obviously, that’s all Bowman’s got.

Probably gonna take a bigger extinguisher than that to put this out.
