"Symbols of hate": CNN in race-baiting heaven

May the good Lord hold those who were lost in Jacksonville close in the palm of His hand, comfort those who cherished them, and whose hearts were broken by this vile, unthinkable act.

This whole, horrific affair is so ghastly for Jacksonville, gut wrenching losses for family and friends, and a pretty shameless opportunity for the race-baiters.

The White gunman who killed three Black people in a racially motivated attack at a Dollar General store in Jacksonville, Florida, on Saturday legally purchased the two firearms he used in the shooting earlier this year, Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters said in a news conference Sunday.

The gunman, identified as 21-year-old Ryan Christopher Palmeter, bought a handgun in April and an AR-15-style rifle in June, the sheriff said. He lived with his parents in nearby Orange Park and had no criminal arrest history, although he had been temporarily involuntarily held under the Baker Act in 2017, the sheriff said.

Sheriff T.K. Waters explained in a later interview the Baker Act had been at 15-yrs-old, and the gunman had not been held as a mental patient, so that’s the explanation for it not showing up when he went to purchase weapons.

CNN carries on. They gratuitously give Governor DeSantis a couple lines and then let the racial animus fly, including a healing quote from Biden.

…The Jacksonville branch of the NAACP issued a statement saying it stands in solidarity with the families affected.

“It is deeply disheartening that our black communities live in constant fear of being targeted based on the color of their skin, unable to shop at their local store without the threat of violence,” the branch said.

…[Biden]“Even as we continue searching for answers, we must say clearly and forcefully that white supremacy has no place in America. We must refuse to live in a country where Black families going to the store or Black students going to school live in fear of being gunned down because of the color of their skin.”

The northwest Jacksonville community shaken by Saturday’s violence is processing the loss, according to Florida State Sen. Tracie Davis, who represents the area of Jacksonville where the shooting happened.

“I’m angry, I’m sad to realize we are in 2023 and as a Black person we are still hunted, because that’s what that was,” Davis told CNN. “That was someone planning and executing three people.”

It’s not just the written word either – they are doing all they can to fan those racial hate flames again, with a healthy side of politicking for lagniappe. Talk about your dogwhistle.

My God, CNN – there’s no such thing as giving it a rest for decency’s sake, is there?

“I spoke with my colleague…used to be an official with homeland security. And she told me specifically that Jacksonville is a breeding ground of neo-Naziism. They have been tracking this and seeing this….What can you tell us about the climate there in Jacksonville with these hate groups?”

She tees it up beautifully for the local NAACP head. Oh, yeah – let it rip – check all those boxes.

Even their frickin’ chryon:

WHITE GUNMAN KILLS 3 BLACK PEOPLE AT JACKSONVILLE, FL STORE

CNN really wants you to know that Florida is a hotbed of racist hate and murder, and makes sure they are clear about what skin hue the precious lives lost were, and what color the monster was who did the killing.

See? You don’t need a pie chart or a graph – CNN does the thinking for you.

Except when they, like, don’t want you thinking too much, and need to “report” but as quickly as possible and move on.

Almost exactly a month ago, there was another horrific, senseless mass shooting. In Georgia this time.

For some reason CNN covered it completely differently than the incendiary race hammering on tragedy above. In this instance, with every mention, CNN seemed to be in a terse little hurry, and at no time was it ever slathered with their usual virtue signaling outrageous outrage.

See if you can spot the difference.

Well…huh. Sure glad I didn’t have to BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR for almost 24 hours as a murderer scampered through my county, because I wouldn’t have had the first clue what the scumbag looked like.

You’ll notice what is missing from their online report of the murderer’s demise in a shootout with local deputies: any mention of anyone’s race. Just that they got their man with extreme prejudice.

The “man” who gunned down four people is pictured there.

Oh. Hello.

Guess who is not? His victims. Wonder why. Every victim had been his neighbor.

…The victims were identified as Scott Leavitt, 67, Shirley Leavitt, 66, Steve Blizzard, 65, and Ronald Jeffers, 66.

Hampton City Manager Alex Cohila said the last 36 hours have been surreal.

“When we came yesterday, we had no idea that tragedy would befall this tranquil and peaceful community,” he said. “Yesterday will certainly go down as one of the saddest in the 150-year history of this city.”

Two of the people killed were married, according to a family friend who launched an online fundraiser. She said the couple, who were in their 60s, had lived in Dogwood Lakes for 15 years and were looking forward to retirement.

CNN couldn’t even show their faces. Every link in their story on the gunman being killed goes to an anti-gun or gun control data site.

FOUR WHITE lives at the hand of a black gunman aren’t worth mentioning to CNN.

That murderer was supposedly mentally unbalanced as was the Jville shooter. But the GA mass murderer’s racial animus, his racial hatred, is excused by that and his skin color, I guess? No tears for the elderly white folks gunned down by CNN, no interviews with their pastor, loved ones, no one.

Are they literally “hunting” blacks in Jacksonville?

I can’t find where that assertion is true. In fact, that new sheriff, T.K. Waters, and a black man himself, is taking names and kicking ass as far as crime, period.

…News4JAX data shows through March of this year there have been a 22% drop in murders when compared to last March.

There’s also been a 32% decline in the number of people shot through March compared to the same period a year ago when there were a total of 101.

When he took office in November, Sheriff T.K. Waters said he would do things differently, and he is, utilizing his background in the homicide, gang and narcotics units.

“We will use all of our resources and those of our partnering agencies to put you in prison forever if we can,” said Sheriff Waters during a briefing for Operation Decrypted.

But whipping up a narrative is all in a day’s work for CNN and ignoring precious lives lost – even when it’s more lives – because it didn’t fit what they’re trying to shape is their modus operandi.

The CNN chryon for the Georgia murders that you never saw, because CNN didn’t, wouldn’t and couldn’t bring themselves to write it?

BLACK GUNMAN KILLS 4 WHITE PEOPLE IN HIS GEORGIA NEIGHBORHOOD

Because why, again?

Because this IS CNN.

Dr. King’s America wouldn’t make the chryon.
