Biden Blames Horrible Debate Performance on Travel to Europe

President Biden was tired, y'all. That is why he did so poorly in the presidential debate last Thursday night.

Slowly the Biden campaign is acknowledging that Biden really took a beating during the debate and the polling afterward is showing the results. Biden is beginning what the campaign and the White House are signaling as a comeback.

There was a Biden fundraiser in Virginia on Tuesday. He spoke to the attendees for six minutes. During that time he raised eyebrows by blaming his travel schedule for his problems.

Biden and his people have offered up some lame reasons as to why the president did so poorly in the debate. He had a cold, they said. Then they blamed the aides who were prepping him for the discussion. Now the story Biden is telling donors is that he was exhausted from his travels to France for the commemoration of D-Day and then the G7 summit in Italy.

The president told donors Tuesday that he was offering “not an excuse but an explanation” for his struggles during the debate.

“I wasn’t very smart. I decided to travel around the world a couple of times … shortly before the debate,” Biden said at a fundraiser in McLean, Virginia. “I didn’t listen to my staff and I came back and then I almost fell asleep on stage.”

Hmm. Biden's travels to Europe were finished about two weeks before he began debate prep. He cut his trip short in order to fly to California for a big-name celeb fundraiser instead of attending a peace summit in Switzerland with other G7 members. The peace summit was about Ukraine, one of Biden's big issues. Biden expects American taxpayers to continue to send billions of dollars in support to Ukraine but he prioritized a campaign fundraiser over a peace summit with our allies.

Biden is not a serious president.

Team Biden provided the easiest possible schedule for debate prep. He took a week off, hunkered down at Camp David, and concentrated on the debate. Or, so we were told. We were told that he was totally focused on the debate, he was sharp as a tack, and he was ready to go. Then, after the debate, the truth came out.

As it turns out, Biden is only reliably counted on to be able to do his job between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. He is a part-time president. His debate prep was a half-assed one out of necessity. Biden isn't capable of going all-in on anything. Well, except for his hatred of Trump and MAGA World. He goes full force 24/7 with that.

The debate prep didn't begin until after 11:00 a.m. every day. Biden was given time for a nap every afternoon. The people around him at Camp David were alarmed about his inability to stay focused and articulate policy positions. He should have been over any jet lag or travel fatigue well before the debate prep began.

Biden went to France for the 80th anniversary of D-Day in early June, then to Italy for the G7 meeting on June 12. The president followed that up with a Los Angeles fundraiser on June 15. He returned to Washington on June 16, or 11 days before the debate. He and his team holed up at Camp David for prep for nearly a week before the event with Trump in Atlanta.

Biden, his campaign, and the White House are all in recovery mode. They have been exposed, along with complicit media, for covering up for a failing president. He is not fit and vigorous, behind closed doors or in public. He is 81 years old and suffering from dementia. There is no cure for that. He will only get worse. If he can't fully do the job now, why are they enabling him to run for re-election?

Why is Biden still in the Oval Office now? I'm old enough to remember when tossing around using the 25th Amendment against former President Trump was a thing. It seems to me that a feeble and rapidly declining president is more of a threat to our national security and domestic well-being.

Democrats love power more than they love America. Whatever happened to Country First among the Never-Trumpers? Where are they now? Hiding and waiting for this all to blow over. There is no going back now. They all have to face the music, starting at the top with Biden and his inner circle, especially Jill Biden. She's the mistress of ceremonies in this circus.
