That photo with the headline of this post is from the show that Biden and Amy Poehler were celebrating with Seth Meyers last night. Meyer's show first premiered on February 24, 2014. 

Amy Poehler and Joe Biden, the vice president then, were the show's inaugural guests. The two came together again on Monday to tape a show that commemorated its anniversary.

Biden allegedly went to New York City for a campaign meeting, according to the White House. That sounded odd - why would he have to travel for a campaign meeting? Then the truth came out. He was in the Big Apple for a taping of NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers." 

Biden's visit angered pro-Hamas demonstrators. The group Jewish Voice for Peace NYC posted photos on social media. They wore shirts saying "ceasefire now" and held a banner that read, “Jews to Biden: Stop Arming Genocide.” Commenters were quick to point out that these are progressive Jews who are out-of-step with the majority of Jews about a ceasefire.

It was Biden's first appearance as president. The show returned for its 11th season in October after the WGA strike ended. 

Celebrating the 10th anniversary is "jarring" to Meyers, he told TheWrap when reflecting on the show's evolution, pointing to previous guests who sat on his couch prior to the pandemic. "It really does feel like a different show."

"It's just constantly trying to do things differently and finding new ways to do things and trying to adjust the process sometimes," Meyers said of the series' growth. "We've never been a show where the solution has been, 'We gotta work every day of the week and twice on Sundays!' We have found that the looser it's gotten, not in the way it deals with the facts or the way it tackles tricky subjects, but we want the show to feel comfortable and lived in. So mostly it's just taking advantage of every night as a new rep just to try to be more comfortable with how we do it."

The protesters may have been unhappy that the guy they call "Genocide Joe" was there but the audience loved it. Notice that Joe Biden did his silly little half-jog as he crossed the stage. He's so energetic!

During his visit to an ice cream shop, Biden casually mentioned that he hopes a ceasefire deal in the Israel-Hamas war could come in Gaza by next week. That's right. Joe Biden, standing in a NYC ice cream shop, licking an ice cream cone, told reporters that a ceasefire deal could happen by next week. It's a big topic for the president to be standing around with an ice cream cone to make such a big prediction. But, nothing is normal with this administration. Biden promised a return to normal. We're still waiting for that.

“I hope by the end of the weekend,” Mr. Biden told reporters in New York, where he traveled to tape an interview with late-night host Seth Meyers.

“My national security adviser tells me that we’re close, we’re not done yet. My hope is by next Monday we’ll have a cease-fire,” he continued.

Mr. Biden’s remarks came shortly after Israel agreed to an updated framework that would establish a six-week cease-fire in Gaza in exchange for the release of 40 hostages.

Talks are ongoing in Paris in which officials from the U.S., Israel, Qatar and Egypt are negotiating the potential cease-fire.

I wonder if Netanyahu heard that comment. The Israelis are waiting to hear from Hamas on whether it will accept the updated language in the discussions. Leave it to Joe Biden to potentially eff up such sensitive negotiations. It's not his war and he doesn't get to call the shots. Israel has to be able to wage war without unnecessary interference from Biden and his incompetent group of minions. All of the hostages must be released and Hamas must be destroyed.

Meanwhile Israel is moving forward with its plan to move into Rafah. Israel's war cabinet has approved operational and evacuation plans. 

As part of the deal, Israel has also agreed to release more jailed Palestinians than they had previously agreed to set free. Up to 400 prisoners, whom Hamas call “hostages,” could be released under the new deal.

Perhaps Joe Biden could keep his yap shut until the deal is worked out if it is, and then he can make public statements. Time and place, Joe, time and place. The world is watching him eat ice cream in NYC. It's not like there is anything else going on in the world, right?
