There is a trucker convoy on its way to the southern border in Texas. They should arrive in Eagle Pass today. Other convoys are headed to Yuma, Arizona, and San Ysidro, California.

The goal is to bring attention to the Biden border catastrophe. Supporters of border security are going to peacefully gather to protest the humanitarian and national security crises that are the results of the chaos on the border. The “Take Our Border Back” convoy left Virginia earlier this week. Eagle Pass was chosen because of the current standoff between the federal government and Texas over securing the state’s border with Mexico.

Thursday the convoy that is headed to Eagle Pass stopped in the central Texas town of Dripping Springs. A rally was held at a local brewery. A couple of high-profile conservatives joined the rally. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and rocker Ted Nugent spoke to the crowd of about 1,000 people crammed into the One Shot Brewery and Distillery.

Nugent played the Star Spangled Banner. He called on all the convoy supporters to go register to vote in the upcoming presidential election. Sarah Palin also remined the crowd to get out and vote in November.

“If you’re here today and you’ve never registered to vote I want you to leave right now because you did this,” said Nugent.

Former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin also pushed the importance of getting out the vote this November.

“I do want to thank you for being in the arena, knowing that now more than ever it is required for us to stand up and fight for what is right,” said Palin.

“It is unconscionable, it is treasonous what our own federal government is doing to us in actually sanctioning a foreign invasion of our country across that border,” said Palin.

Ten-four good buddy. None of these rallies or trucker convoys matter if people don’t register to vote and then get out and do it in November. The only way to bring back law and order and a secure southern border is to oust Joe Biden from the White House and put in a Republican that knows how to handle this crisis. Trump looks like he will be the Republican nominee and he’s been there, done that with border security during his previous term in office. My hope is that every rally with border security supporters will include reminders to go register to vote and get out the vote speeches. Otherwise, it is a missed opportunity to encourage change.

Republicans in the House passed HR 2 several months ago. The Democrat-led Senate is letting that legislation sit on Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s desk as Democrats rail against Republicans. Remember that as Democrats try to flip the script and say the wide open southern border is the fault of Republicans. I know. You can’t make this stuff up. It’s a presidential election year and Democrats think that voters are stupid.

Many of those who attended the rally in Dripping Springs traveled long distances to get there. They drove from across the state to deliver a message to Joe Biden. Some were from ranching families along the border. Some were from military families who are angry about the invasion at the border.

In the meantime, 25 Republican governors have banded together to support Texas Governor Abbott in his fight to secure the border. In a separate event on Sunday, Governor Abbott and 14 Republican governors will appear with Abbott to show support for his efforts.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced yesterday that Florida is sending help to Texas. He is sending members of the newly created Florida State Guard, a civilian military force under the governor’s control. He is also sending Florida National Guard troops. The governor correctly describes the border crisis as an invasion. DeSantis has been a dependable and helpful partner with Abbott in working on border issues.

“The goal is to help Texas fortify this border, help them strengthen the barricades, help them add barriers, help them add the wire that they need so that we can stop this invasion once and for all,” DeSantis said at a press conference in Jacksonville.

DeSantis said State Guard members would be deployed to Texas alongside members of the Florida National Guard and Florida Highway Patrol troopers, who in recent years have taken part in Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s border security initiatives. It is unclear how many members will be sent, or for how long, but at the press conference there were roughly 50 members standing by the governor as he made the announcement.

The deployment will mark the first time members of the Florida State Guard have been activated to do work outside the state.

Rep. Tony Gonzales voiced sentiments held by many Texans along the border.

Republican Representative Tony Gonzales, whose district includes Eagle Pass, told Reuters he understands many Americans are frustrated over border issues, but that he won’t be joining Saturday’s rally.

“Those of us that live on the border, that work on the border, we’re exhausted,” Gonzales said. “Eagle Pass, three years ago, no one even knew it existed. And now it’s in the news every single day. And many of us, all of us, we just want to get our lives back.”

The trucker convoy will help keep the focus on the border. Immigration and border security is the top issue for voters across the country. Every state is a border state in Biden’s America. In a presidential election year, it is a perfect time for Americans to say they are mad as hell and they aren’t going to take it anymore.
