Here we go again. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is temporarily suspending and reducing vehicle processing at ports of entry in Texas and Arizona. This is a response to a surge in illegal immigration along the southern border.
Personnel is needed to help process asylum claims by illegal immigrants. By suspending processing operations, CBP will be able to move personnel to assist the Border Patrol with taking illegal immigrants into custody. As of Monday at 3:00 p.m., vehicle processing operations at Eagle Pass International Bridge 1 in Eagle Pass, Texas were temporarily suspended. At 2 p.m., vehicle processing was reduced in Lukeville, Arizona.
CBP issued a statement to explain this decision.
“In response to this influx in encounters, we will continue to surge all available resources to expeditiously and safely process migrants,” the statement read. “We will maximize consequences against those without a legal basis to remain in the United States. CBP will continue to prioritize our border security mission as necessary in response to this evolving situation.”
Some sectors along the southern border are seeing spikes in illegal immigration. One sector hit particularly hard right now is the Tucson Sector in Arizona. It reported its highest weekly total ever last week with 15,300 illegal crossings in one week. That sector is so overwhelmed that it has suspended its use of social media for the time being. That means a lack of information coming from CBP on what is happening at the border. Remember, Joe Biden promised that his administration would be the most transparent of any previous administration. What a lie.
So, Bridge 1 in Eagle Pass, Texas will only be partially operational.
***IMPORTANT NOTICE***
Due to recent increase in number of immigrant crossings, Bridge 1 will suspend northbound operations(Mexico to United States) effective November 27, 2023 3:00pm and until further notice.

This hurts the flow of legit commerce and does little to ease illegal crossings. If Joe Biden wanted to keep fentanyl out of our country, stop human trafficking, and get illegal immigration to a minimum, he would provide the amount of personnel needed to manage the chaos that is happening every day on the border, both in Texas and Arizona. He would have a DHS secretary that was competent and could give border communities the resources they need. But, no. This is all intentional by Joe Biden.
The statement from CBP when it announced the operational pauses:
“The U.S. is continuing to see increased levels of migrant encounters at the Southwest Border, fueled by smugglers peddling disinformation to prey on vulnerable individuals and encourage migration. As we respond with additional resources and apply consequences for unlawful entry, the migration trends shift as well. We continue to adjust our operational plans to maximize enforcement efforts against those noncitizens who do not use lawful pathways or processes such as CBP One™.
CBP has suspended or reduced operations at ports of entry in the past when spikes in illegal immigration occur in past months. CBP agents are pulled from their normal assignments and told to do administrative duty processing illegal immigrants. This is Biden’s border crisis. It began before he was inaugurated. Migrants began their treks to the southern border because Biden campaigned on ending deportations, shutting down policies and agreements successfully used during the previous administration, and encouraging sanctuary cities. This is the result of his bad policy decisions.
Mayorkas and Biden can continue to say that the border is closed, that the border is secure, but it’s a lie. It’s a national security crisis and a humanitarian crisis. It isn’t getting better. The only way to save America, at this point, is a change in the person in the White House. Deny Biden a second term as president and elect a Republican that can lead us back to a more secure country.
