Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) is running for the Senate seat that Senator Debbie Stabenow currently holds. Stabenow is retiring so Slotkin is running for the upgrade from the House to the Senate.
Something is circulating on social media that may be causing Slotkin some heartburn. Slotkin, the only Jewish member of Michigan’s congressional delegation, posted a three-part thread on X (Twitter) explaining that the chant “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” means only one thing. It means the total annihilation of Israel and Jews. Period. There has never been any doubt about the meaning of the slogan. Slotkin is frustrated that a new softer, gentler meaning is trying to catch on with the Jew haters.
The phrase “from the river to the sea” is one of division & violence, & it is counterproductive to promoting peace. None of us, especially elected leaders, should amplify language that inflames a tense situation & makes it harder for our communities to find common ground. (2/3)

If I knew that a phrase I’d used had hurt any of my constituents, I would apologize & retract it, no matter its origin. I’d ask the same from you. (3/3)

She referenced elected officials. Not only does Tlaib have a history of anti-Semitic language, she has been particularly aggressive in her speeches and opining on social media since October 7, 2023. She is exactly who Slotkin is speaking about.
If Slotkin was truly sincere, she would have made her statements on X long before she did. She did it Sunday. The massacre by Hamas in Israel that set off the war began on October 7. A month later, she is reacting to the anti-Israel, anti-Jew slogan chanted by protesters. WTH? Is she a self-loathing liberal Jew who figured out that her constituents in Michigan are not down with such hatred? Did she see the latest poll by The New York Times and Siena College that shows Trump up over Joe Biden in five of the six most important battleground states, including Michigan? That poll is creating all kinds of panic for leftists.
Taken on face value, Slotkin’s words are okay. But, she is in an awkward position of her own making. There is video floating around of Slotkin publicly praising Tlaib at a rally by calling her “a bada**.” That implies she approves of Tlaib’s behavior.

Slotkin was having some type of grrrl moment there but now it has come back to haunt her. Tlaib is not someone to praise. She is toxic. She is dangerously inciting Jew-haters. Tlaib doesn’t try to hide her anti-Semitism at all. She is a true believer. She has no business being a member of the House of Representatives. Tlaib is a member of the Hamas wing of the Democrat Party.
Biden is worried about support in Michigan and he has taken a tougher stance against Israel by calling for “a pause’ by Israel, which is a softer way of saying ceasefire. Biden is trying to appease the large population of Muslim voters, especially in urban areas like Detroit, which Tlaib represents. Slotkin is from a more rural area. Since Slotkin is in a statewide race in her campaign for the Senate seat, she has to appeal to a wider variety of voters than Tlaib.
On Friday, Tlaiib tried to soften her hideous support of the anti-Israel chant. She posted on X that it is “an aspirational call for freedom, human rights, and peaceful coexistence, not death, destruction, or hate.” How’s that for some next level gaslighting?
Tlaib has begun referring to Joe Biden as Genocide Joe and threatening him by saying that Muslim voters will remember his actions since October 7.
.@POTUS, the majority of the American people are not with you on this one. #CeasefireNow pic.twitter.com/rV97zrMkad

That is what Israel and Jews and their supporters are up against. The size and anger at these protests are shocking. Tlaib’s angry words only serve to incite more anger. We live in very dangerous times.
This is a time for moral clarity. There is no place for such hatred in a civil society. Calling for the termination of a people because of their religion cannot be normalized. Hamas must be destroyed. No ceasefire. That will only give Hamas time to regroup and reload. Israel cannot not stop and only deliver half-measures. Israel must stay the course and eliminate its enemy. There was a ceasefire on October 6. Obviously Hamas does not respect such agreements. There is no reasoning with people who express a mission that is to eliminate Israel and Jews. No more humanitarian aid until the hostages are released.
