Good thing our southern border is secure because FBI director warns about lone wolf attacks

The time and environment is ripe for lone wolf-style domestic terrorism attacks. FBI Director Christopher Wray is sending out a warning that Americans need to be vigilant. The porous southern border is an opportunity for those who would do us harm.

Wray said on Saturday that domestic threats have surged since the war between Hamas and Israel has accelerated. He made a request for police to share intelligence and observations with the FBI. He specifically mentioned violence die to anti-Semitism and attacks against people of faith.

“History has been witness to antisemitic and other forms of violent extremism for far too long. Whether that be from foreign terrorist organizations, or those inspired by them, or domestic violent extremists motivated by their own racial animus, the targeting of a community because of their faith is completely unacceptable,” Wray said in his prepared remarks at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in San Diego.

“We remain committed to continue confronting those threats — both here in the United States and overseas,” he said.

“I want to take a moment to offer my heartfelt condolences to the people of Israel, and share the outrage I know we all feel at the sheer brutality and disregard for innocent lives there,” Wray added.

It’s a little ironic coming from the FBI director, given the agency’s targeting of Catholics and pro-life activists.

The Department of Justice has received criticism for their treatment of some American Catholics and their causes, including prosecution of several pro-life activists, not being more aggressive on pro-choice groups vandalizing and targeting pro-life centers, the targeting of parents who attend school board meetings to contest controversial curricula, and a leaked FBI document from an FBI field office targeting traditional Catholics who are associated with the Latin Mass.

Attorney General Merrick Garland denied any such prejudice and said during a heated congressional hearing, “The idea that someone with my family background would discriminate against any religion is so outrageous.” Garland’s family fled antisemitism in Eastern Europe in the early 1900s.

Nice try. There are plenty of progressive Jews who are not supportive of their community. And the Trump years exposed the disgust for conservatives that appears to run rampant in the middle to upper management levels of the FBI. We see you, Merrick Garland.

The FBI issued a statement Monday that said there is no “specific and credible intelligence indicating a threat to the United States stemming from the Hamas attacks in Israel.” I take that kind of statement with a large grain of salt. It on the same level as when Joe Biden or someone in his administration says there is no evidence that Iran is behind the Hamas attack on Israel. It defies common sense.

What we do know is that CBP is reporting apprehensions of illegal immigrants from the Middle East who are coming over our porous southern border. Fiscal Year 2024 began on October 1. This morning an FNC reporter who covers the Biden border crisis posted on X that at least two encounters with Iranians have been reported in FY 2024.

Wray said to be on the lookout for “lone actors.”

“In this heightened environment, there’s no question we’re seeing an increase in reported threats, and we’ve got to be on the lookout especially for lone actors who may take inspiration from recent events to commit violence of their own.”

Attacks by a sleeper cell of even two or three terrorists is enough to take American lives. Some potential domestic terrorists live among us. Here is something that alleges to be from my own city.

It sends a chill up my spine. I’m sure if this is going on in Houston, it is going on in other cities, too.

The Biden administration is “concerned.” Just not concerned enough to do what is necessary to close the border. Nothing changes until that happens.

There was a report of Lebanese nationals apprehended at the southern border last week.

Customs and Border Protection apprehended two Lebanese nationals at the southern border Thursday, the latest in a spree of Middle Eastern “special interest aliens” trying to cross this week alone, Fox News reported.

The apprehension of 19 Iranians and 17 Syrians — in addition to the Lebanese men — this week in one border sector alone comes amid fears over the possibility of a terrorist attack in the United States linked to last weekend’s massacre in Israel carried out by the terrorist group Hamas.

They are 2 of 164 Lebanese nationals encountered by CBP from October 2021 through this point in October, according to the Fox News report. Further, CBP encountered 6,386 nationals from Afghanistan, 3,153 from Egypt, 659 from Iran and 538 from Syria, according to the report.

Both Hamas, which operates in Gaza, and Hezbollah, the terrorist group in Lebanon, are linked to and funded by Iran.

Israel is ordering evacuation of 28 villages along the border with Lebanon. It is very possible that Hezbollah or Hamas terrorists or their sympathizers will take advantage of the flood of illegal aliens at the southern border and infiltrate among them to gain entrance to the United States. Vetting of illegal aliens is insufficient because of the large number crossing the border every day. We should all be concerned for the safety of our families and communities. Biden’s neglect of the southern border is intentional and it is potentially deadly.
