Upstate NY county tells Mayor Adams to stop sending illegal aliens after sex assaults in Buffalo

County executives in Erie County, in upstate New York, are refusing to accept any more illegal aliens from New York City. This decision came after two sexual assaults occurred at Buffalo-area hotels that are housing them last week.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz, a Democrat, said the facilities are not safe. Erie County’s “trust and good faith has been betrayed.” On top of the two sexual assaults, a contractor hired by the Adams Administration, DocGo, to provide services to the illegal aliens relocated upstate “may have interfered” with the Cheektowaga police’s investigation in the second assault case. DocGo has been the subject of complaints before the sexual assault.

“I demanded [New York City] Mayor [Eric] Adams pause all further transportation of asylum seekers to our community until such time as we can resolve all security issues,” Poloncarz said during a Saturday press conference posted by Spectrum News.

“He agreed and informed me they will not send any additional persons to Erie County at this time. We also discussed the need for a new and improved security plan.”

Erie County officials want the transferring of illegal aliens to their county stopped and those already in hotels there to be removed. So far, about 540 illegal aliens have been sent to Erie County from NYC. Democrats who embrace those who illegally come into our country and demand asylum are beginning to wear out their welcome as the reality of the Biden border crisis sets in.

Authorities said an asylum seeker from the Democratic Republic of the Congo was arrested Friday and is being charged with sex abuse and unlawful imprisonment after allegedly sexually assaulting an employee inside the Best Western hotel in Cheektowaga near Buffalo Airport.

The bust came just days after another migrant from Venezuela, who also arrived from New York City, was charged with raping a woman in front of a 3-year-old child, at another Cheektowaga hotel.

“Erie County opened its arms to try to welcome these new Americans. Unfortunately we believe we can’t make the program, as it is presently run, sustainable without significant changes,” Poloncarz said.

Is it a surprise when bad things happen? These people come into our country illegally, they know they are coming in illegally, and yet the very first action they take in the country they expect to give them asylum is to disregard American laws. Democrats who sanctimoniously pointed fingers at red state governors for objecting to the flood of illegal immigrants overrunning their borders are now being slapped by reality. Welcome to the party, pals.

The second sexual assault victim was a 27-year-old female from Buffalo who was a worker at the Best Western. She was employed by one of the agencies providing services to the illegal aliens. The Cheektowaga Police Department Chief, Brian Gould, asked that the Best Western be discontinued as an asylum hotel. The hotel is in a residential area, so that wasn’t a good idea in the first place, as far as public safety goes.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams struck a deal with Governor Kathy Hochul to relocate 1,200 families outside the city. It’s the biggest move by the state to deal with the Biden border crisis. The governor has essentially remained silent and in the background as Adams takes the lead on the crisis in NYC. Hochul plans to staff 13 shelters outside the city with National Guard. Adams claims he has opened 200 emergency shelters to handle 100,000 illegal aliens.

Hochul’s idea that the illegal aliens be housed in military facilities is not going over well with the Biden administration. Hochul thought she would be able to brag about her involvement with the crisis facing NYC, after ignoring it for months, and her request blew up in her face.

The Biden administration is refusing to sign off on using Brooklyn’s Floyd Bennett Field to house migrants, leaving Gov. Kathy Hochul red-faced after she made a personal pitch to the feds Sunday.

New York’s top Democratic official made sure she was on the morning call with such Biden bigs as Deputy Secretary of the Interior Tommy Beaudreau — and her office even prepared an announcement on the deal to send out pronto afterward, sources familiar with the situation told The Post.

The embattled gov hoped to be able to finally crow about a deal with the feds to use the desperately needed space at the 1,000-acre former military airfield to help ease the crush of migrants flooding into the Big Apple, sources said.

The Biden administration doesn’t work with anyone to handle the Biden border crisis. Hochul should have known better than to think she would be applauded for her idea. Biden and his minions don’t care. They are ok with illegal aliens pouring over the southern border and taking over downtown areas of major cities when they sleep on the streets and trash hotels they are put up in. This is Biden’s America.
