Rep. Jim Comer (R-KY), the likely incoming chairman of the House Oversight Committee, held a press briefing on Thursday to talk about plans to investigate the dealings of the Biden family business. Now that Republicans have a slim majority in the House, oversight investigations will shift from the non-stop focus on the business dealings of the Trump family to The Big Guy and his son, Hunter, and his brother, Jim Biden. However, Comer is making it clear – Hunter Biden can count of being subpoenaed but Joe Biden can rest easy for now. No subpoenas are coming Sleepy Joe’s way.

“We want to know what the Biden administration is trying to hide from the American people,” Comer said.

“I want to be clear, this is an investigation of Joe Biden, that is where the committee will focus in this next Congress,” he said, referring to international money laundering, “one link to human trafficking,” and “influence peddling.”

“This investigation will be a top priority,” Comer said. “National security interests require the committee conduct such investigations… Committee Republicans have uncovered evidence of federal crimes committed by and to the benefit of members of the president’s family. These include conspiracy or defrauding the United States, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, violations of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, tax evasion, money laundering, and conspiracy to commit money laundering.”

“The Biden administration human trafficking to potential violations of the Constitution. In the 228th Congress, this committee will evaluate the status of joe Biden’s relationship with his family’s foreign partners and whether he is a president who is compromised.”

“Committee Republicans have spoken with multiple whistleblower with numerous schemes involving the Biden family reviewed Hunter Biden’s laptop and received documents of previously unknown transactions,” he also said.

It is smart to say up front that the investigation is into Joe Biden, the president, and not just into his drug-addicted grifter son. The Big Guy, as Hunter refers to Joe in his emails found on the laptop no one is supposed to pay attention to, is the one Americans should be concerned about. Joe Biden has lied all along about his knowledge of his son’s corrupt overseas business dealings and about the fact that Joe Biden got a cut of the multi-million dollar deals. Hunter’s emails stated that the Big Guy gets 10%. Ten percent of multi-million dollar deals start to add up over time. No wonder that as a career public servant with no family money can have more than one mansion and, before his presidency, also rented a place in Virginia for when his wife’s teaching career at a community college warranted her using it. Three homes, no waiting.

Here’s the thing- normally I don’t support going after the children of politicians because they aren’t the ones who ran for office. In this case, though, Hunter Biden and Jim Biden have made very lucrative deals because they use the family name and the proximity to Joe Biden, a former senator and vice-president before he was president. Allegedly. How else does a guy like Hunter Biden, with no experience at all, land a multi-million dollar gig on the board of directors of a Ukrainian energy company? He never even bothered to show up. He just took the monthly checks. That’s a sweet arrangement that was all about the potential proximity to Joe Biden. Hunter was also making sketchy deals in China, thanks to hitching rides on Air Force Two with his father. That’s all probably just a coincidence, right? Right.

The whole reason Hunter’s laptop story was buried by legacy media and online, except for outlets like Fox News, is because Hunter had all kinds of incriminating info on it, implicating his father is compromised as president and the Biden crime family reputation is real. It’s not Russian disinformation or a right-wing conspiracy. It’s the truth and it’s finally going to be exposed – we hope.

Not everyone wants to talk about the Biden crime family, though.

Yeah, they do, Val. She quickly found out. Seventeen percent of voters say they would not have voted for Joe Biden if they had known about the scandals covered up by the media before the election. That would have been enough to change the outcome of the election. For the media, it was mission accomplished.

Joe Biden is president now and who knows what is going on with the family? Hunter has frequently been spotted at the White House during various events. Clearly, his father and stepmother are trying to normalize his presence there. Joe won’t be subpoenaed, though, because of executive privilege. Just as the Trump administration used executive privilege to avoid testifying before Congress, the Biden administration will do the same. There is a very long history of past presidents doing the same. When the opposition party investigates, the executive branch responds by using executive privilege to avoid testifying. It’s complicated, said Rep. Comer.

Asked why he plans to subpoena Hunter Biden and not his father, Comer told CNN that trying to compel testimony from a sitting president is “complicated,” while saying Republicans are planning a different approach after securing the majority in the House.

“The Democrats sent out subpoenas like junk mail, and that’s why it’s hard to get people to come in,” Comer said.

But at the same time, Comer reiterated that his committee’s probe is focused on the sitting president, not his son.

“This needs to be called the Biden investigation and not the Hunter Biden investigation,” he said, echoing comments he made during a press conference earlier Thursday.

We know that Hunter is supposed to be taken seriously now as an artist and his paintings sell for a ridiculous amount of money. If his name was Joe Smith, those painting would fetch far less. Hunter is still playing the game.

Kudos to Senators Grassley and Johnson for the yeomen’s work they have been doing in the Senate to connect the dots with Hunter’s financial dealings with an arm of the Chinese government. If what they have uncovered was against the family of a Republican president, well, you know what would happen. As far as I know, the only outlet that covers what they find is Fox. Well see how it goes with Comer’s committee investigation.
