Three people are dead and another six have been injured as the result of a school shooting. The shooting took place just before 11am at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin. It's a small K-12 school with fewer than 400 students.

Police responded and found a "juvenile" who they believe was responsible and a student at the school. He was already dead when they arrived. Several other people were sent to hospitals for treatment. Police Chief Shon Barnes gave a press conference with the information we have so far but no names have been released yet.

There's an update near the end of that statement where someone says five people were killed but police have apparently walked that back since that time.

The Madison police have corrected the number of people killed in the school shooting. Officials said three people, including the suspected shooter, are dead. At least six others were injured.

Here's the first statement from the Governor.

And one from Sen. Ron Johnson.

President Biden has been informed about the shooting but for the moment there doesn't seem to be much more information. There is another police press conference happening soon. I'll update this post once that happens.

Update: Still not identifying anyone but Chief Barnes says one of the victims was a teacher and the other was a teen student.

There is someone online claiming to be the boyfriend of a the female student who he claims is the shooter. No one has confirmed that yet so I'm not going to post the name but it's getting a lot of attention on X at the moment.

CNN is reporting the shooter was female.
