Biden's Mass Amenesty Plan Revealed

We've been hearing for weeks about how Joe Biden is planning a big "crackdown" on illegal immigration in the face of plunging poll numbers over this issue. Don't fall for it. Much the same as almost everything you hear from this White House, it's a sham. As the New York Post reported yesterday, the real action is taking place in the background. The vast majority of the migrants have been allowed to submit an application for asylum, despite being clearly unqualified for the program. They were then released after being given a date to appear in immigration court to make their claim, sometimes as much as a decade later. But with little to no notification to the public, more than a quarter of a million of these migrants later had their cases closed by the federal government with no resolution. More are on the way. This means that they have neither been granted nor denied asylum but simply turned loose to go where they please with no fear of deportation and no legal status in terms of citizenship. This is truly a case of mass amnesty in an extralegal fashion, which is what the Democrats have been trying to achieve all along.

While the Biden administration is attempting to look like it’s getting tough on the border, behind the scenes it’s operating a program of a “mass amnesty” for migrants, The Post can reveal.

Data shows that since 2022, more than 350,000 asylum cases filed by migrants have been closed by the US government if the applicants don’t have a criminal record or are otherwise not deemed a threat to the country.

This means that while the migrants are not granted or denied asylum — their cases are “terminated without a decision on the merits of their asylum claim” — they are removed from the legal system and no longer required to check in with authorities.

The move allows them to legally, indefinitely roam about the US without fear of deportation, effectively letting them slip through the cracks.

You almost have to admire Joe Biden's brazen deception in gaming the system in this fashion. (Almost.) When someone arrives at the border and requests asylum after being encountered, they should have to "remain in Mexico" until their case can be heard. That's how it worked under Donald Trump's presidency. Our immigration courts were already overwhelmed, so that wait could turn out to be a long time.

But Biden saw a way to work the backlog to his advantage. He basically allowed the migrants to be logged into the system, assigned a court date, and then erased from the system without action being taken. Those 350,000 people essentially disappeared off of the radar of our immigration system. That doesn't give them the right to a work permit or any other legal status, but what does that matter in Joe Biden's America? They'll just be given free lodging and debit cards and be told to make themselves at home. Then they just need to wait for the Democrats to figure out a way to grant them all citizenship.

So what can be done about this? Sadly, pretty much nothing as long as Joe Biden is in office and his people are running the Department of Justice and Homeland Security. But that doesn't have to be the situation in perpetuity. Any criminal case, including immigration violations that has been closed without a resolution, can always be reopened at a later date if the situation warrants it. If Donald Trump retakes the White House in November, he will need to assign someone to track down all 350,000 of these cases and bring them back to active status. Then we can add all of those names to the list of people who will need to be located, detained, and deported. That will be just one more item on the endless checklist of work that Biden is leaving for the next president to handle in an effort to undo all of the damage he's done.

If you come to this country and apply for asylum, the process is designed to be fairly straightforward. You either meet the basic qualifications for asylum or you don't. In more normal times, we placed limits on how many people could be granted asylum in any given year. If the courts are unable to determine that you qualify, you should, by default, be deemed unqualified and be removed from the country. That's the opposite of what Joe Biden and the Democrats want, however. So he concocted this scam to flood the country with as many illegals as possible. Now we're all paying the price for that deception.
