Federal judge: Fauci to be deposed in social media censorship suit

It appears that the sainted Dr. Fauci has a hot date with a court looming in his future after a federal judge in Louisiana ruled that the Good Doctor has some explaining to do regarding collusion between the federal government and the major social media platforms where speech has been censored on the topic of the coronavirus and other “controversial” subjects. Correspondence between the CDC and some of the tech sector giants obtained by investigative journalists seemed to have made this clear already, but now the attorneys general in Louisiana and Missouri are seeking to make the matter official and put a stop to it. The Biden administration is obviously pushing back hard on this effort, not wanting such information to come to light, particularly this close to an election. But the judge ruled that even if Fauci didn’t engage in contact with people running the social media platforms directly, his influence over the process and the suggestion that he actively supported the censorship of credible scientific opinions should be readily established. A federal judge has ordered Dr. Anthony Fauci and other Biden officials be deposed as part of a lawsuit against the Biden administration, alleging that the government colluded with social media companies to censor free speech related to the coronavirus and other controversial topics.

According to a court order from the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty concluded that Fauci’s high-profile public comments have made him a key figure in the lawsuit from the Republican attorneys general of Louisiana and Missouri who allege that “collusion” between the Biden administration and social media companies to censor coronavirus-related speech that could be damaging to the White House.

“Plaintiffs argue that even if Dr. Fauci can prove he never communicated with social-media platforms about censorship, there are compelling reasons that suggest Dr. Fauci has acted through intermediaries, and acted on behalf of others, in procuring the social-media censorship of credible scientific opinions,” Doughty, appointed by former President Trump, wrote.

Dr. Anthony Fauci isn’t alone on the invitation list. Other Biden administration officials and former officials are expected to be called to testify, including Jen Psaki. The alleged collusion between the Biden administration and the Big Tech social media companies will cover more than just COVID “misinformation.” Also on the list are instances of suppression of speech regarding the origins of the virus, Hunter Biden’s laptop, and even the security of mail-in ballots during elections.

It’s rather doubtful that you’ll hear very much about this lawsuit on CNN or MSNBC, to say nothing of the pages of the New York Times or the Washington Post. But it’s important that these people be dragged out into the open and forced to answer some questions. The level of suppression of “wrongthink” on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and other platforms has been painfully obvious for quite some time now and the suppression takes place almost exclusively in one ideological direction. Also, much of the information being suppressed did not simply represent “unpopular opinions.” Entire medical studies conducted in Europe casting serious doubt on the efficacy and safety of the COVID vaccines, as well as European government policies enacted in response to that data have been labeled as “harmful misinformation” with such content being removed and user accounts being suspended or terminated entirely.

As for the Hunter Biden laptop story, we all know how that worked out. The story has been proven beyond any shadow of a doubt to be 100% valid and accurate, with even the Gray Lady and the Washington Post finally admitting as much. But during the final days of the last election, the New York Post’s Twitter account was shut down for weeks because they linked to their own reporting on the story. And yes, the Biden administration had its fingers in that process from the very beginning.

This really calls for more than a simple lawsuit. There are people who should have been fired if not put in jail. Unfortunately, when the people responsible for the deeds are also the ones in control of the Justice Department and tasked with enforcing the law, we apparently are not supposed to expect a fair and balanced outcome. And the Biden administration has been weaponizing the entire Department of Justice in ways that I have never seen in my lifetime and would have scoffed at if you were to suggest such a thing only a couple of years ago. This is one of the major reasons that the GOP needs to retake power in both the legislative and executive branches and shine a very bright light on all of these rats before they have the chance to scurry away.
