Donald Trump to National Guard: Do Not Lose Hope, Help Is Coming

Monday's campaign roundup was a classic example of the dichotomy of strategies between the two political camps. On the Democratic side, all the speculation was that Kamala Harris might be considering a place she can get to where she would entertain the possibility of maybe consenting to an interview at some point in the near future. Perhaps. The buzz around this development that actually means nothing intensified throughout Monday and approached the level of whether or not Beyonce' would appear at the DNC. She didn't.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump is Johnny Cash. He's been everywhere, man. He was at the border in Arizona, then to Phoenix, Las Vegas, Detroit, Falls Church, VA, and Arlington Cemetery to pay respects to the 13 fallen at Abbey Gate three years ago, all in the last 48 hours. But yesterday's speech to the National Guard Association in Detroit was a pretty powerful address, which means you will not hear a word of it out of regime media.

This was the appearance where Tulsi Gabbard, the now-former Democrat, endorsed Trump for president. She's also rumored to be helping the former President prepare for a debate with Kamala Harris, being that she almost single-handedly ended Kamala's 2020 presidential campaign by ruining her during a primary debate on CNN.

Trump's remarks were couched in an overwhelming message of cheer to the Guard, many of whom are stationed at the Southern Border doing the best they can in a completely chaotic situation brought on by Harris policy that is intentionally dysfunctional. Here's the topline message from the former, and hopefully future, commander-in-chief.

Donald Trump shows nothing but respect to the men and women of the National Guard.

He notes that when he was shot during an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, the National Guard was right there and stepped in to help respond.

Then, it was time to start boring in on Kamala Harris, and on what a disaster she's been to the border, veterans, and to the Guard itself. He noted that during the 2020 riots that burned cities across the country, Kamala Harris blocked the Guard from responding, and helped bail out people who caused the mayhem and fought the Guard on the streets.

He mentioned that last Thanksgiving, he did what Border Czar Kamala Harris refuses to do - go to the border and see for herself what the Guard is facing, and listening to their concerns in order to adapt policies.

He criticized Kamala Harris for spending money to bring in illegal aliens by air, and promised to redirect it on the first day via executive order.

He observed that on Kamala Harris' watch, veterans are treated worse, much worse, than illegal aliens.

He reminded his audience that during his first term, 9,000 people were fired from the VA as part of a whole series of reforms he implemented, only to have it gutted by Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.

He also promised to make adjustments to the priorities on who stays and who goes once he takes office and countermands Harris' open borders policy.

The bottom line? This is the stakes of this election.

I'm just fine with Trump using the Communist/Marxist reference. I grew up during the tail end of the Cold War. I was taught in school what Communists did and still do. But I fear that many people younger than me will hear the Comrade Kamala stuff and not appreciate the reference, because they have no working knowledge of how destructive Communism has been everywhere it's been tried in history. They're not taught about the evils of Communism unless in college, and only then in the pursuit of specific majors. It's not general education anymore.

My advice to Team Trump would be to take one of his appearances somewhere, and take a little time and offer a primer as to the evils of Communism, and why Kamala Harris being this generation's embodiment of it is such a dangerous proposition for this country.  Even once or twice, if it's captured on video, can be used virally to help remind people of why Harris as president is such a horrible idea. Then go back to pounding her on issues.

For example, such an opportunity could have been during his Falls Church appearance with Virginia Senatorial candidate, Captain Hung Cao. Hung came to America as a refugee from Communist Vietnam in 1975, and has lived the American dream. He joined the Navy, was commissioned as a Special Operations officer, served tours in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Somalia. In short, he's a stud. He'd make a wonderful replacement in the United States Senate over Tim Kaine. But he, like so many people of Vietnamese descent, or Cuban descent, Soviet Union descent, Chinese dissidents, or even those who have fled Venezuela's Maduro know full well what Communism is and would mean if adopted in this country. It would have been great to have either Trump, or even better, someone at one of these events give a personal testimony of why Communism would be such a disaster for the United States. It's appropriate to hang the Marxist tag on Kamala, since her entire political theory she's espoused to date is rooted in Karl Marx, but people have to know how many millions died as the natural result of the flaws of Communism, how much starvation took place from food rationing and shortages, how much economic calamity manifested itself on populations due to runaway hyperinflation.

It's a small nit to pick in an otherwise grand address. Trump continues to talk policy on a daily basis. Harris is still trying to ride the sugar high a day longer, keeping any accountability for her positions, policies, and actions at bay for one more news cycle. Just like the pressure became too great for Biden to stay on the ticket, despite there not being much of an official mechanism to push him out, leave, he did.

That same pressure will eventually force Kamala to speak off the cuff, either at a debate or in a press conference. And the word salads that will inevitably spring forth will remind people that she's not up to this job. She never was, and never will be.
