Joe Biden's Illegal Ticking Time Bomb

Joe Biden has a ticking time bomb on his hands. Actually, depending on the study, he has anywhere between 90,000 and 900,000 ticking time bombs on his hands. Georgia nursing student Laken Riley is the most recent victim. Sadly, and very unnecessarily, there will be many more victims between now and Election Day.

Upon taking the oath of office in January of 2021, President Biden cancelled the Remain In Mexico policy, which was the stopping point for asylum-seeking migrants headed north. Mexico was the first country not in a conflict zone where they would stay, contact the U.S. Embassy, and begin the process of filing claims for residency in the States.

Biden on his first day as president ended the Trump-declared emergency on the border, which ceased the emergency spending and redirection of money to fund border wall construction. Wall panels ceased being put up on January 21st, 2021. Title 42 is no longer in place. The list of actions taken by Biden specifically to sabotage immigration enforcement at our Southern Border is near endless, as is the stream of humanity knowing that and beginning the trek north.

The size and scope of the flow of untracked humanity into the country is hard to fathom, but here are a couple of examples to explain just how badly Joe Biden's performance on the border has been in three-plus years. Here's our friend, Andrew Malcolm from his Red State column Sunday:

Every one of those cities is a big enough metropolitan area to have its own international airport. That's a lot of people that are here now. Here's the one that really got me. This is Joel Berry, the managing editor of the Babylon Bee. I only wish this were a parody. It's not.

In a follow-up post, Berry brought the receipts to back his claim. From PBS

The most comprehensive analysis of shipping records over the course of the slave trade is the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database, edited by professors David Eltis and David Richardson. (While the editors are careful to say that all of their figures are estimates, I believe that they are the best estimates that we have, the proverbial “gold standard” in the field of the study of the slave trade.) Between 1525 and 1866, in the entire history of the slave trade to the New World, according to the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database, 12.5 millionAfricans were shipped to the New World. 10.7 million survived the dreaded Middle Passage, disembarking in North America, the Caribbean and South America.

And how many of these 10.7 million Africans were shipped directly to North America? Only about 388,000. That’s right: a tiny percentage.

From CBS News about how many unaccompanied illegal minors have crossed under Biden's watch.

Record numbers of migrant children have crossed the U.S. southern border over the past two years, creating significant logistical and humanitarian challenges to the Biden administration. In fiscal year 2022, HHS received a record 128,904 unaccompanied minors, up from 122,731 in the prior year, agency statistics show. The vast majority of these children have hailed from northern Central America. Soon after Mr. Biden took office in Jan. 2021, child migration spiked, leading to dangerous overcrowding in the small number of Border Patrol facilities designed to temporarily hold migrant children and families. In response, the administration set up makeshift shelters in convention centers, military bases and work camps, including the Dimmit Emergency Intake Site, the location of the facility set to open this week.

That's only the first two years of Biden. 2023's numbers were even bigger, and 2024 is already outpacing '23. And from ABC, this is roughly how many illegal kids Biden's team lost track of entirely.

There's been credible allegations for example, in the New York Times of child labor laws being violated that the church children are being trafficked and sure enough, there's been congressional whistleblower testimony that these children are being trafficked, and that their leadership in this program didn't have very good answers,” Andrzejewski said. “We've got massive taxpayer costs, we've got 85,000 children being bossed, we've got leadership without answers, we have a lack of accountability and transparency within the federal agency itself and a massive human child trafficking problem at this agency.

This is just staggering to contemplate. And that's just looking at the humanity side of the problem. If you look at the inhumanity of it, this is where the political problems are poised to mount for Joe Biden and the Democrats this fall. By Election Day, the estimates are that roughly 9 million illegal migrants will have entered the country. Regardless of whether they stay, go, are free to move about the country like a bad Southwest Airlines commercial, they're basically here. No one, including the government, knows the exact number, because it's a non-stop stream. It's like the federal debt. The meter is spinning so fast, no one can pinpoint an exact number at a precise moment in time. The counter is moving so fast, it's a blur.

But for the sake of this argument, let's use the 9 million number. Most of these illegal migrants are probably harmless to society. They're felons, to be certain. They broke the law to get here in the first place. Beyond that, however, they're probably not perpetrators of violent crime, or future perpetrators of violent crime. The National Institute of Health studied Sweden fairly recently, and made an interesting discovery. 1% of their population commits a little over 60% of their violent crimes. That number can't be fully applied here, as the study concludes, because of ethnic makeup and socio-economic differences of the population. But if you do apply it here, it's probably the low end of the possible violent felons spectrum.

Christopher Ingraham in the Washington Post back in 2015 studied the data here in the States, and came to the conclusion that 10% of the population commits 63% of the violent crimes. That might seem high, but thus, far, that ratio seems to be holding.

Again, for the sake of the argument being made in this column, let's assume that the real percentage of violent felons in the population is somewhere between the 1% and 10% number. Let's look at those borders, pun intended. If 9 million people are here, 10% is 900,000 present or future violent criminals. 1% of 9 million is 90,000.  The best case argument you can make for Joe Biden from now until Election Day is that there are 90,000 murders or rapes waiting to happen here not just on his watch, but with Biden's policies aiding and abetting in those murders and rapes. These future crimes simply would not have the opportunity to occur had Biden not created an open border. At worst, there are 900,000 felons-in-waiting scattered all over the country.

Laken Riley, who was laid to rest at the age of 22 last Friday with her whole life in front of her, save for a Venezuelan national who stalked her, killed her, and was caught on security cameras distributing her bloody clothes in dumpsters behind the apartment housing complex in which he had no legal right to reside. Here's the ad that Donald Trump's PAC ran in Georgia last week.

For every Laken Riley that dies at the hands of an illegal alien that came in on Joe Biden's watch, there will be an ad like this. Regime media will try to downplay it every time it comes up, but it will resonate with the growing number of Americans for whom rising crime is very much a concern. How many parents out there have daughters off somewhere at school? Sleeping comfortably these days?

On Sunday's Face the Nation, Margaret Brennan pressed impeached Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on what failed in the system that led to the death of Riley.

You've got to love the hypocrisy of the left. When a series of governmental failures led to a downed power line sparking a fire that burned half of Northwest Maui to the ground, killing over a hundred people, who was to blame? Not the incompetent Democratic boobs at the federal, state, and local level. No, climate change was to blame. Why? Narrative.

At a Waukesha, Wisconsin Christmas Parade in 2021, PBS' headline read, "Multiple People Killed By SUV In Waukesha Christmas Parade". They didn't talk about the driver, it was about the SUV being the primary culprit. Why? Narrative.

And if there's a mass shooting somewhere, does the left say, as impeached Secretary Mayorkas said Sunday to Brennan, that the individual murderer is the person solely responsible? Nope. It's always the gun's fault. We have to take away the guns, because it's the guns that are killing people. Mayorkas cannot and will not accept any culpability for this homicide, even though the culpability is thick enough to cut through with any halfway decent plaintiff lawyer's steak knife.

90,000 up to 900,000. That's how many potential victims there are of crimes committed by violence-prone illegal aliens admitted into the country by Joe Biden and flown to the city of their choice. Hell, in California, they are about to be able to apply for an interest-free loan on their first home. Perhaps a reasonable mortgage payment on a beachfront condo in Redondo might pacify them from crushing the skull in of a UCLA Bruin jogging on the boardwalk one morning. But probably not. The Democrats are now resorting to waking up every morning and hoping there isn't another Laken Riley out there.

Hope is not a very good campaign strategy for 2024.
