There's gaslighting, and there's Nancy Pelosi-style gaslighting. Turn the gauges up to 11, and take a big whiff of Pelosi's attempt to dodge responsibility for the worst fraud perpetrated on American voters since Edith Wilson became the de facto president.
Despite all that has been written about the massive cover-up of Joe Biden's dementia while in office, the former Speaker and House Democrat caucus leader now wants to pretend that she had no idea that the president had become literally incompetent while in office. Speaking at a Politico forum yesterday, Pelosi claimed to be a victim of the fraud herself despite her ringside seat at the obvious, starting at least in April 2022 when the Easter Bunny ordered the Leader of the Free World off a ropeline. Pelosi then went on to blame the White House and the Biden family for not being honest about Biden's status:

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi bashed allies of former President Joe Biden Tuesday, saying those who were aware of the 46th president’s cognitive decline “should have acted upon that information” earlier.
The 86-year-old Pelosi (D-Calif.) claimed at Politico’s “The California Agenda: Sacramento Summit” event that she “didn’t really know” about Biden’s problems before his disastrous June 27, 2024, debate against Donald Trump, saying that she rarely saw the then-commander in chief in person after Democrats lost the House majority in the 2022 midterm elections.
“I do think that those who did know should have acted upon that information. Whoever knew,” she claimed. “There was staff saying the family knew. The family said the staff.”
Come on, ma'am. Literally everyone knew, as the media's CYA narratives and the Now It Can Be Told literary genre made perfectly clear. Even Pelosi admitted to at least being suspicious, as she claims to have pressed Biden to make a cognitive test public in order to defuse the dementia claims:
"At that point … 72% of the American people didn't think he should run or could serve a term," Pelosi said. "I don't think he knew that."
Pelosi said she told the then-president that the public could have a more positive view of him serving a second term if he underwent cognitive testing and made the results public.
"I did say this, 'I think the public would like to hear that you've had a testing that demonstrates you can serve the next term,'" Pelosi said. "That's all I said."
She said Biden responded that his job tests his cognitive ability every day, but she reaffirmed that voters would like to see something diagnostic.
All of this is predicated on the idea that Biden's cognitive impairment was a secret. Not only is that false, but it was also so obvious at the time that anyone denying it is either lying or having cognitive issues of their own. Biden's cognitive issues became the subject of public debate at least since this episode in April 2022:
Worth noting about this episode: Pelosi was House Speaker in 2022 when this happened. She claims now that losing the gavel meant less time spent with Biden, which is debatable. What's very clear is that Pelosi was around for this decline in the very time frame she cites, and said nothing at all about it – even when Biden ran for a second term.
By the next year, Biden's mental and physical decline had alarmed donors at fundraisers, and aides began planning to use a wheelchair for Biden in a second term to keep him from injuring himself. His former chief of staff, Ron Klain, belatedly admitted that Biden was not "politically viable" during his last year in office, and yet Democrats still kept trying to foist a second term on the American electorate. The month before the debate that Pelosi claims opened her eyes to Biden's incompetency, the demands for answers to Biden's clearly aphasiac public episodes produced the now-infamous "cheap fakes" claim from the White House, in which they argued that video clips were deceptive and that Biden was still Sharp As a Tack™.
A full fourteen months before the debate, the Wall Street Journal's editorial board declared that Biden was not competent enough to run for a second term, and that they had grave doubts about his competence to continue in office at all. The warning to Democrats about cosseting a senile figurehead looks particularly prescient now:
But asking the country to elect a man who is 80 years old and whose second term would end when he is 86 is a risky act that borders on selfish. It’s impossible to know Mr. Biden’s real physical and mental state because the White House goes to great lengths to hide it. But his decline is clear to anyone who isn’t willfully blind. He rarely holds a press conference, and his words are as scripted as possible to avoid embarrassing stumbles that he nonetheless continues to make. ...
For Democrats, there’s no small risk that Mr. Biden could decline noticeably in the 19 months until Election Day in 2024. In that event, voters on the fence could swing toward a Republican nominee who can at least meet the rigors of the office. Yes, even Donald Trump.
In other words, no one needed to spend their time locked in the White House to figure out that Biden had declined into senility. So many people suspected as much that the White House media handlers came up with elaborate ruses to convince people not to believe their own lyin' eyes, long before the June 27, 2024 debate exposed the corrupt attempt by Democrats inside and outside the White House to use Biden as a sock puppet for the Left.
You'd better believe Pelosi was a key member of that conspiracy. She's looking to throw people under the bus to escape responsibility for it now. Politico apparently let her off the hook yesterday, but the rest of us should hold her feet to the fire and make this fraud Pelosi's lasting legacy.
