What stories topped your priority lists this week? Duane is out this week and next, so David Strom will take over his seat in the podcast. And as you'd predict, we immediately focused on ... [checks notes] ... women's basketball? Indeed, the WNBA provided lots of fireworks this week, all of them off the court. USA Today columnist Nancy Armour embarrassed her entire profession this week while accusing Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, and their fans of racism for not accounting for the lynching of Emmitt Till, perhaps the greatest non-sequitur in sports journalism history. Cunningham also outraged sports journalists this week by pointing out that it's "common sense" to exclude biological males from female sports and spaces, which proves that Armour is hardly an exception in her industry.
From there, we move on to the DSA and discuss whether we have seen Peak Socialism in this cycle. Neither David nor I are sure, but we know we haven't yet seen peak civil war on the Left. Does the DSA push communism? We tackle that question, as well as the reason why socialism and communism are distinctions without a difference. Democrats are about to deal with the corrosive effects of tribalism through their insistence on woke intersectionalism.
