Google: Hey, Sorry For Participating In Biden’s Censorship Regime

I hate to say I told you so, but … you know I love to say I told you so. Mostly, though, I’m just happy to be able to say I told you so — because the Biden administration, the Protection Racket Media, and Big Tech did their level best to silence all opposition to the progressive ruling clique.

Don’t take my word for it, though. Take Google’s word for it. In a letter to the House Oversight Committee, the attorney for their parent company Alphabet admitted that they shut down content that didn’t violate their terms and conditions, under pressure from “senior Biden administration officials,” including some at the White House itself. They now will offer to allow all creators booted off YouTube and other Alphabet platforms a chance to return:

Google vowed on Tuesday to offer YouTube accounts that were permanently banned for political speech the ability to be reinstated, and the big tech giant admitted that it once faced pressure from the Biden administration to remove content about COVID-19.

Google detailed its remarkable shift in a document, first obtained by Fox News Digital, that a lawyer for the company provided to the House Judiciary Committee. ...

"Senior Biden Administration officials, including White House officials, conducted repeated and sustained outreach to Alphabet and pressed the Company regarding certain user-generated content related to the COVID-19 pandemic that did not violate its policies," the lawyer wrote.

The administration "created a political atmosphere that sought to influence the actions of platforms based on their concerns regarding misinformation," the lawyer added.

Ah yes … misinformation. That was the rubric used by the Left as a cudgel to silence and deplatform their opposition. That was exactly the purpose, and exactly how the Biden regime used it, too. This is actual deplatforming over speech and dissent, as opposed to the absurd whining of Jimmy Kimmel and his celebrity clique for the last few days. Kimmel himself approved of this when this happened to conservatives, as did most of Kimmel's outraged allies in media and politics.

The letter from the law firm representing Alphabet makes a full admission of their participation in a conspiracy to silence Biden's opposition. The PDF formatting makes it nearly impossible to copy excerpts, but paragraphs 8 and 9 are most pertinent:

8.    Senior Biden Administration officials, including White House officials, conducted repeated and sustained outreach to Alphabet and pressed the Company regarding certain user-generated content related to the COVID-1 9 pandemic that did not violate its policies. While the Company continued to develop and enforce its policies independently, Biden Administration officials continued to press the Company to remove non-violative user-generated content.

9.    As online platforms, including Alphabet, grappled with these decisions, the Administration's officials, including President Biden, created a political atmosphere that sought to influence the actions of platforms based on their concerns regarding misinformation.

Alphabet claims that they "pushed back" on such efforts, as exposed first by Elon Musk in the Twitter Files. The fact that Alphabet now needs to welcome back thousands or more content creators who were pushed off the platform speaks to the strength of their supposed pushback. Alphabet's declaration that they would no longer engage with third-party 'fact checkers' is another acknowledgment of the Biden Big Brother archipelago.

Will the Protection Racket Media welcome them back to their platforms? Will they report on how an American president deplatformed and silenced thousands of Americans for disagreeing with him? Will celebrities cry into microphones for the civil rights of conservatives who really did get shut down by Big Brother for their dissent? Don't hold your breath, folks.

If we thought our job in pushing back against the Academia/media/Democrat censorship complex was over with the election, think again. This is going to be a long fight.
