Scary: Migrants Attempt Boarding of School Buses near San Diego

Want to know how bad the border crisis has become? Look to this story this week from California, not coincidentally the home state of a certain Democrat presidential anointee.

Two different school buses nearly got hijacked near San Diego on Tuesday and yesterday with children on board, during their return to their homes. Groups of migrants in each case attempted to board the buses, forcing the drivers to evade them. Now the children may have to be rerouted back to their homes in the days ahead:

How will the school district ensure student safety? Not by rounding up and deporting the "migrants," at least not for now. Instead, parents will have to follow the school buses to see where their children can safely exit to the street. And that prompts a few questions:

According to Bystedt, the district reported the incidents to U.S. Border Patrol, California Highway Patrol and San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

“The San Diego Sheriff’s Office was made aware of this incident today. We are conducting a follow up investigation to determine if a criminal act has occurred. The Sheriff’s Office takes issues regarding student safety very seriously and are working with the school district in order to keep the students and our community safe,” Kimberly King with the Sheriff’s Department responded to FOX 5/KUSI in a statement.

As the investigation proceeds, Bystedt added that “for the safety of students and bus drivers” buses will drive past stops with migrants nearby, heading directly to the next one on the route.

“Please stay [vigilant] and if the bus drives by, please follow the bus to pick up your child at the next stop,” she told families in the emailed notice.

Ahem. If parents can trail the school bus, they can pick their kids up at school. The issue isn't necessarily meeting their kids at the assigned bus stop, but that children often walk home on their own from those stops. What happens if "migrants" are in the area but not interfering with the bus? Does the driver drop the kids off, or drive off with them -- and force the kids to trek back to get home?

The problem isn't with migrants who are just looking to give their families a better life. Having groups of migrants displaying this kind of aggressive behavior to school buses strongly suggests that they are not just displaced and benign laborers. Many of the migrants now coming across in the Biden border crisis are gang members and criminals of other varieties, not to mention potential traffickers. Even those apprehended by Border Patrol are usually just cited and released.

The solution to this problem isn't vigilance from parents and bus drivers. It's vigilance from the federal government. For the past three-plus years, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have allowed this crisis to fester and expand, leading to all sorts of crises in border states especially. This is just one of the examples, and a revealing look at the lack of options for communities that have to deal with the severe consequences of the failures of the Biden-Harris administration.

Addendum: It's not just the border states, either:

Although Denver's suburbs don't share its sanctuary city policies, the influx of migrants into the Mile High City has spilled outward. Now, its neighbors are facing an unprecedented wave of activity from a notorious Venezuelan prison gang.

Officials from Aurora, about nine miles east of Denver, told Fox News Digital the Tren de Aragua gang has gained a strong foothold in their city, commandeering apartment complexes and drumming up violent crime and sex trafficking.

"We currently have entire complexes under gang control — complexes where staff have been beaten up, they've been threatened, their families have been threatened [and] complexes where there are no staff left on the property," Aurora City Council Member Danielle Jurinsky said. "These complexes are being run by this Tren de Aragua gang.
