"We all know how this works," says Kaivan Shroff, Team Kamala flack and Democrat strategist, at the DNC convention in Chicago. Boy, do we ever.

ABC News pressed Shroff to explain why Kamala Harris has not provided any details about her policy proposals, or even make herself accessible to reporters. In the full video, Shroff tries to avoid the question by first claiming that speeches are enough ("Just watch this week!") and then claiming that the media only tosses softballs at Donald Trump in pressers, which leads one to wonder exactly what they put in the water in Chicago.

To her credit, the ABC host scoffs at that claim and tells Shroff to "just answer the question." That's when Shroff uncorks about the only truth he offers in this 10-minute segment (via Twitchy):

In fact, I think Vice President Harris has been incredibly brave to roll out an ambitions economic agenda, because we all know how this works. The more details you share, the more your policies are going to get picked apart. But she's saying, I trust the American people, I trust the journalists to explain these policies and our values to folks. And I think when that happens, that will be successful for Democrats.  

If that's the case, then Shroff has had a weekend of unpleasant surprises. The Washington Post, CNN, and even the New York Times went out of their way to ridicule Kamanomics after her supposed in-depth launch of economic policy. Even MSNBC criticized her "gimmicks" and lack of depth, or at least aired criticism by guests. The WaPo editorial board put it in the paper's institutional voice, however, and it's clear that the mainstream media didn't follow the progressive narrative -- at least in the short term. 

In the long term, of course, we all know how this works. 

Shroff may have missed the mark today, but the Protection Racket Media will line up behind Harris soon, if not immediately. That will be especially true around the debates; even if Donald Trump trounces her in a debate, the MSM will rally to her to declare her the winner, and/or to redefine the debate through cooked and one-sided fact checks.

Because we all know how this works.
