"We do have special meetings for white women and white men. These people are gathering because they don't want to, does anybody know, because they don't want to be around people of other races? No, no, no, that is a super sad choice of how to characterize that. They're gathering together because they don't want Republicans elected.
"We have to fight white supremacy, friends, by joining white-only groups of friends."

"Next came her decision to run for the Democrat nomination for President in 2020. She received a tremendous amount of positive media attention during the early stages of the process, and had some good moments in the debates. But as more of her record as Attorney General in California was revealed by her Democrat party opponents, the untested nature of her as a candidate in a contested fight began to show through.
"Without going into too much detail now on her 2020 candidacy, it is enough to note that she suspended her campaign and withdrew from the race just after Thanksgiving 2019, polling at around 3% — after being as high as the mid-teens in the summer of 2019. Her well-funded campaign — with serious backing from multiple California groups and individuals — had burned through money at an incredible rate, and the campaign itself was in constant turmoil with significant staff turnover.
"The reality of the Democrat primary was the reality of Harris’ entire political career — the more voters learned about her, including hard-core Democrat primary voters, the less they were persuaded to vote for her."

A source familiar also says Harris is hitting the ground running as the new presumptive Democratic Nominee days into her campaign working through all of the necessary planning and attending the funeral of late Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee.
The source also says the Harris for President campaign team worked very closely with NABJ leadership to find an alternative option. The NABJ team unfortunately denied a request for the VP to take part in a fireside chat virtually, or to host an in person fireside chat with the VP at a later date.
Worth noting: Donald Trump is coming in person to the National Association of Black Journalists convention to do a Q&A with the attendees, and will be interviewed at the convention by Fox's Harris Faulkner. Why is Kamala Harris avoiding the reporters at the NABJ convention?

On the other hand, maybe this is why ...

Vice President Harris made mention of Donald Trump plenty in her speech tonight in Atlanta, a dozen times or more. One name that she didn't utter: Joe Biden.
