Last week’s congressional testimony from former CDC director Robert Redfield might be the most significant in decades. In short order, Redfield exposed efforts by Anthony Fauci and Francis Collins to quash any inquiry or discussion of the role gain-of-function research likely played in a pandemic that killed millions — and the collusion of the news media and Big Tech in suppressing questions about it. And why? Adam Baldwin and I follow the money — and follow the power too in this can’t-miss discussion.

Welcome back to my VIP video series “The Amiable Skeptics,” featuring my friend Adam Baldwin! Adam is well-known for his long and storied Hollywood career, starting with My Bodyguard, and especially for his roles in Full Metal Jacket, Firefly, its film sequel Serenity, Chuck, and The Last Ship.
“Collins and Fauci had decided that they had reached a consensus on the origin of the virus,” Adam declares, “and their consensus science didn’t need Redfield’s input, didn’t need for him to test their hypothesis because they had already reached the conclusion. It’s anathema to the scientific method,” Adam adds.
“They’ve been covering it up for three years,” I respond. Fauci was warned at the end of January 2020 that the COVID genome did not exhibit signs of evolutionary development by two different scientists. We now know that Fauci responded by (a) commissioning a snap “study” to debunk any suggestion of a lab leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and (b) direct grant monies to the two scientists to keep them on his side. The whole point of that, I argue, was to stop anyone from questioning their decision in December 2017 to lift the moratorium on funding gain-of-function research — after being repeatedly warned that it was too risky and would likely produce a pathogen that would escape and cause a pandemic.
And that, of course, brings us to the media giants that colluded in the cover-up — some willingly, some less so. The congressional testimony on the Twitter files paralleled this revelation, and exposed just how deeply that collusion went. They “showed that the CDC was involved in suppressing discussion of this,” I argue, “as well as other things like the efficacy of the vaccines and in mentions of naturally acquired immunity. … [That] showed that the people who were expressing skepticism were largely correct to do so,” I add, “and the CDC, the FBI, DHS all colluded to suppress that.” And the news media and Big Tech platforms all participated in it.
