This week has been full of revealing moments about the authoritarian bent of the Left, Adam Baldwin and discuss in today’s episode, but perhaps none so clear as the one provided by Chuck Schumer. “We are outraged that Senator Schumer would take to the Senate floor,” Adam starts off saying, “and pull the tactic that he tried to pull with Harry Reid against Rush Limbaugh many years ago.” Schumer tried to pressure a broadcaster to shut down speech way back then and he’s back at it now — over Tucker Carlson’s publication of January 6 surveillance video that should be public in the first place.

Welcome back to my VIP video series “The Amiable Skeptics,” featuring my friend Adam Baldwin! Adam is well-known for his long and storied Hollywood career, starting with My Bodyguard, and especially for his roles in Full Metal Jacket, Firefly, its film sequel Serenity, Chuck, and The Last Ship.
Today’s episode comes extra spicy as we delve into just one aspect of how the bureaucratic state in DC is attempting to control speech and quash dissent and criticism. And this case, as in others, has a whiff of cover-up to it to hide official incompetence. “Why didn’t Nancy Pelosi want to have enough backup with the National Guard that Trump had offered?” Adam asks. “Why didn’t she? They knew this was going to happen.”
That may be why the January 6 committee apparently never bothered to watch the surveillance tape “Alayna Treene from CNN asked Benny Thompson about that,” I mention, “and Benny Thompson said, ‘As far as I know, none of us looked at the surveillance video, we had a team working on that.'” The co-chair of the select committee with literally one job never bothered to even look at the primary evidence of the issue before the committee?
Adam and I taped this as Matt Taibbi and Michael Shellenberger began their testimony at the House Weaponization of Government subcommittee, and commented on the goings-on along the way. “Democrats are trying to shout him down,” I observe, “by saying how dare journalists appear on behalf of Republicans when Democrats call journalists to these things all the time?”
“They were trying to stifle [Jonathan] Turley the other day,” Adam points out in response.
But back to Schumer. “You can disagree with what Tucker has to say. You can vehemently disagree with what Tucker has to say,” I argue. “But it’s not as though there aren’t media outlets that Chuck Schumer can go to have that conversation. In fact every place, except maybe Fox News and Newsmax, would be happy to amplify Chuck Schumer’s message on this.”
To which Adam concludes: “F*** Schumer.” And hey — he can say that because, well … he’s Adam Baldwin, man. Not to mention that we have a long way to go to catch up to Kurt Schlicter on these shows.
