Democrats and Double Standards

We all know that Brett Kavanaugh is a sexual predator.

That's because his accuser, whose own friends didn't believe her, couldn't even show that she knew Kavanaugh, went to the Senate, and said so.

Besides, he liked beer as a teen, which is highly suspicious.

That's good enough for me. Well, not so much, but it sure was good enough for Sheldon Whitehouse

As Mark Judge can tell you, lives were ruined in order to prevent Kavanaugh, whose many background checks over the years proved spotless, from being appointed to the Supreme Court.

Whitehouse, you see, was a prosecutor, and he knows how to smell out the truth of the matter, and he determined that Kavanaugh was a sexual predator, based on the word of a leftist lawyer who spent weeks preparing to sell a preposterous story to the Senate, and coached by Democratic lawyers to do so.

Even before she appeared to sell her pack of lies to America, she lied to the Senate when she tried to delay her testimony. She claimed a deadly fear of flying. Except that she flew all the time, so she revised her claim to "I fear flying unless I am going on vacation.

For some conservatives, Christine Blasey Ford’s admission that she frequently travels by airplane despite a professed fear of flying raised questions about her trustworthiness. But one expert on fear of flying said that is not an uncommon practice.

The topic came up as Ford was being questioned by Rachel Mitchell, a prosecutor hired by Senate Republicans to question Ford.

Ford, who alleges that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while they were both in high school, had earlier sought to delay her testimony ostensibly due to her fear of flying. But she said Thursday that she ended up flying to Washington, D.C., to testify.

She said she had initially hoped the hearings could take place in California, but realized that it was an “unrealistic request.”

“I eventually was able to get up the gumption with the help of some friends and get on the plane,” said Ford. Kavanaugh denies Ford’s allegation against him, as well as those of several other women.

Mitchell then asked about Ford’s other travel history, including trips to far-flung destinations like Hawaii and Costa Rica. Ford said she did travel to such locations by plane, adding that “it’s easier for me to travel going that direction when it’s a vacation.”

Yeah. Uh, huh. Totally credible.

Whitehouse, the master prosecutor, also smelled out that Lyndsey Fifield was a liar when she accused "I like to kill people" Nazi-turned Communist Rapist of abusing was a dirty liar. Who would believe Republican Fifield over that guy?

Whitehouse, by the way, lied about Fifield when he explained she worked for Koch and AIPAC. It makes you wonder what lies he told as a prosecutor.

I've never taken a dime from AIPAC or Koch. I shouldn't need to say that.

My Linkedin is public. I haven't worked “in politics” since the beginning of 2023 when I was digital marketing director for @NikkiHaley. After having a miscarriage I made the difficult but correct decision to prioritize my family.

God is faithful—we welcomed another baby in November of that year.

Since then, the only campaign I've waged has been against the kudzu vines creeping into my gardens, and the only lobbying I've done has been trying—so far in vain—to convince my husband to let me get chickens.

We live a simple, beautiful life.

While I have received overwhelming support from across the political spectrum since June 4th, I was horrified by the dismissive comments made by people like @SenWhitehouse and @jodikantor who believed the Platner campaign's lie that I was a “political operative.”

One of many, many lies they've been caught in.

I've received and accepted many sincere apologies since @jaketapper @alligordon_  reviewed my evidence and did what the NYT failed to do (called my sources to corroborate my claims). @SenWhitehouse, you rushed to publicly condemn me without bothering to get the facts right back in June.

You had over a month to reflect on that mistake but instead of apologizing or even admitting you were wrong, you chose to double down. How truly pathetic.

By the time Whitehouse made his absurd accusations against Fifield, Platner had told so many lies, including to Whitehouse himself when he said there were no skeletons in his closet, that the good Senator knew who was likely telling the truth. Months ago, his own campaign Political Director had quit because Platner was a liar and a really bad dude.

Yes, politics is a team sport, and you sometimes swallow some pride to back a fellow teammate. But there are limits, and defending a lying sexual predator is well beyond that line.

Also, as he did with Kavanaugh, smearing an innocent man as a rapist for political gain makes you a scumbag too.

I nearly burst out laughing this morning at a similar smear job attempt, where David Axelrod (who, by the proxy of Morris Katz, helped bring us Mamdani and Platner) used Adam Schiff of all people to smear the good name of Todd Blanche.

Sen. @AdamSchiff to Acting AG Todd Blanche: What happened to the prosecutor who once respected the rule of law? What happened to you, Todd Blanche? Power doesn't corrupt as much as it reveals. I suspect it has revealed you are willing to sacrifice everything you believed in for that title of Attorney General, and it is a sad story that we have seen from Trump appointee after appointee. We have seen people compromise themselves until they're trying to justify the unjustifiable.

If Whitehouse is disgusting pond scum, Schiff is sewage sludge. The most disgusting man in the US Senate, which is a high bar indeed.
