This morning, I wrote an extensive post about the farce that was/is the Gaza flotilla.
I had hoped that that was the last of it, although I pretty much knew that the hope would be in vain. When propaganda works, you keep doing it until it doesn't. Why reinvent the wheel?
As I outlined, the accusations of abuse of the "activists," some of whom were active associates of Hamas terrorists, were completely made up. Fake injuries (proven by video of "miraculous" recoveries, outlandish claims contradicted by body cam videos, and exactly the kind of sexual abuse accusations that you would expect from people who babble on incoherently about Jewish "rape dogs."

There is zero question about whether the accusations were made up. The worst that happened to the flotilla folks was an Israeli minister showing up while they were in detention to mock them, which is the least that should happen to them.

Ironically, the flotilla folks are exactly as obnoxious as you would expect, and once some of them landed in socialist Spain, the police in Bilbao were not quite so nice. They beat the hell out of the activists when they got out of line, because the Basque aren't quite so tolerant of social disorder as the current Spanish national government.

When they tried to do their standard "make life hell for everybody else" shtick, the police taught them a 1968-Chicago-style lesson.

Still, the facts don't matter a bit. European governments summoned Israeli diplomats to ream them out, and even after all the proof you could ever want that the flotilla people were lying, and after the beating given to the activists in Spain, the condemnations of Israel are still rolling in.
An activist faked an injury and then was filmed perfectly fine, laughing in an airport a few hours later.

As is almost always the case, there is the real world, and then there is The Narrative™, and The Narrative™ always wins when the two are in conflict.

Most people are not armed to deal with people who have a postmodernist viewpoint. We still assume that people in positions of authority are at least TRYING to tell the truth and that their arguments are rooted somewhere in reality. We can't easily conceive of living in a world where it's not just con men trying to con you, but everybody with an elite education.
They don't need or want to know the facts, because facts aren't real. You are a sucker for believing in reality, and you deserve to be manipulated.
It's not just college professors; it's almost every leftist. That's how you get the massive fraud, the hoaxes, the propaganda...
In their minds, it is not immoral. It is the way things should work, and you are a sucker for not getting it.
