You have to hand it to the Trump team. They managed to work in The Don's signature line 'You're Fired," into their campaign narrative on Day 1 of the Kamala Harris campaign for president.
Whether the Trump team is happy or not that Joe Biden's replacement on the ticket is Kamala Harris--my bet is that they are, for obvious reasons--they certainly have their talking points prepared, their opposition research already in the books, and their strategy laid out for the coming fight.

The campaign memo released by Trump's team is pretty brutal:
After being thoroughly decimated by President Trump three weeks ago at the debate in Atlanta, Joe Biden was fired. He was fired by Donald Trump. He has now been turned out to pasture, yet the Biden record of Weakness and Failure still stands.
Just as Donald Trump fired Joe Biden, he will demonstrate to the world he can fire Dangerously liberal Kamala as well.
It's a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to defeat not just one Democrat nominee for president, but two — in the same year!
And where does the race stand? In every public poll conducted, battleground and national, Donald Trump leads Kamala Harris by the same - if not more, than Joe Biden.
The latest Harris/Forbes poll shows President Trump with a 9 point lead over Kamala.
Democrat polling released just today, has President Trump over 50 and leading by 6 in Pennsylvania, over 50 and leading by 8 in Arizona, up 2 in Michigan and up 1 in Wisconsin.
Polls at this early stage--probably half the country doesn't know that Kamala Harris is the heir apparent--don't mean much of anything, but the Trump team is rightly going out there and popping whatever balloons are being blown up to make Kamala look good.
They have also taken an interesting tack that I don't think people have quite picked up on: the Democrats are casting this race as the prosecutor vs. the felon, and the Trump team is firing back--yes, and she is a corrupt prosecutor who misuses the criminal justice system to go after her opponents and climb the political ladder:
The same people who had the following plans:
- Weaponize the Judicial System to falsely accuse, indict and convict on bogus charges
- Utilize the United States Justice Department as a political tool to indict the former President on 40 manufactured charges relating to the Presidential records - a case that has since been thrown out of court
- Utilize the FBI to stage a raid on the President's home
- Use the Courts as a vehicle to go after the President's lifetime of assets
- State Courts led by Democrats in Washington put together attempts to deny ballot access in key states — an attempt defeated and ultimately thrown out by the United States Supreme Court
See what they are doing there? They are going straight at the Democrats' theme and blowing it up, and while that is often a bad strategy (litigating the case on your opponents' territory), in this case I think it is smart. Many Americans are primed to see the cases against Trump as politically motivated, and Kamala has enough baggage as a corrupt prosecutor to make this stick.
In fact, it was her record as the Attorney General of California that forced her out of the race for president in 2019. One of the more famous debate exchanges of the past few years was Tulsi Gabbard tearing Kamala a new one.

The message is simple and obvious and fits with what not just Republicans believe but many swing voters as well: there is something really smelly about the attacks on Donald Trump.
Kamala, the prosecutor, may not be the way they want to go. At least the Trump team is doing their best to undermine it, and they are 1000% better communicators than the Democrats, who have already shot their wad on the "Trump is a felon" message in any case.
Plus, there is this:
At the height of the deadly BLM-Antifa riots in June 2020 that saw neighborhoods, buildings and police stations burned down and violently occupied, @KamalaHarris encouraged the violence to continue.

"They're not gonna let up, and they should not," Ms. Harris said.

As for the "Donald Trump is a threat to democracy" argument. That may not be dead, but it is on life support given what just happened.
The liberal elite and deep state — sensing the American public's disgust with their lawfare, and now in a desperate Hail Mary - have swapped out an incumbent President for the incumbent Vice President in a ploy to try and shake up the race.
The problem for the left and media elite? Kamala Harris is as bad, if not worse, than Joe Biden.
Border Czar Kamala Harris owns the border invasion, which has resulted in nearly 100 terrorists roaming the United States, hundreds of thousands of American dead due to Fentanyl, a child trafficking epidemic resulting in killings and kidnappings, a spread of a new type of crime, a crime directly linked to Harris' own beliefs, and backed by her actions, released migrants who prey and kill innocent Americans.
How do you deal with such heinous beliefs?
Aggressively, in detail, and without quarter.
The left and deep state have pulled out all the stops in their maniacal attempts to retain power.
This is a fight for American Independence:
- Independence from the oppressive weight of the Harris inflation tax
- Independence from the War against American Energy and edicts for all electric cars
- Independence that will once again make the United States respected on a world stage Independence from an oppressive government hellbent on taking away parental rights Independence from a border invasion that risks Social Security, public safety and the rule of law
The restorations of American Independence... starts today.
This "War on Democracy" — will be stopped by the man who took a bullet for Democracy.
The state of play is way too chaotic to make gauging the moment easy, but I have to say that the Trump messaging is hard, direct, and that they have laid out their case with clarity and persuasively.
Will it work? I bet it will, but who knows?
Predictions are hard, especially about the future.
