We already know that encounters with aliens on the terror watchlist have been skyrocketing in recent years. Now the Customs and Border Protection Intelligence Division is warning that terrorists inspired by Hamas attacks in Israel are likely to redouble their efforts to infiltrate the US through our southern border.

Quelle surprise. Who could have guessed?

The Daily Caller first obtained the memo, about which rumors had been swirling. That such a threat existed hardly took a rocket scientist to suss out, however. Anybody with half a brain could have deduced that an open border was an invitation for terrorists to enter the United States.

Encounters with illegal border crossers reached 2.5 million in FY 2023, and that only includes the people whom CBP actually apprehended at the border. Nobody knows how many “gotaways” there have been. All told at least 8 million illegal immigrants have entered the country under Joe Biden, and he has been president for less than 3 years.

“The border is secure,” they keep telling us. This is an interesting definition of “secure.”

It would be insane to believe that terrorist cells have not already been set up in the United States over the past few years, although it is impossible to guess how many and whether there are any current plans to execute a terrorist attack, nor even to guess under what conditions the people involved would decide to execute them.

The threat, though, is very real.

Perhaps not as real as that posed by Catholics who prefer the Latin Mass, or parents who aren’t thrilled to have their daughters sexually assaulted in the schools, though. At least if you trust the priorities of the Biden FBI.

Federal officials are warning that members of Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and Hezbollah could be crossing through the southern border, according to an internal Oct. 20 memo exclusively obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The San Diego Field Office Intelligence Division of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) sent the memo warning that due to the war between Israel and Hamas, there could be encounters of terror-tied individuals who are seeking to travel to or from the Middle East via transit across the southern border. Hamas, PIJ and Hezbollah, all of which are U.S.-designated terrorist organizations, have been committing attacks on Israel in a war that began with a surprise attack on hundreds of civilians on Oct. 7.

“San Diego Field Office Intelligence Unit assesses that individuals inspired by, or reacting to the current Israel-Hamas conflict may attempt travel to or from the area of hostilities in the Middle East via circuitous transit across the Southwest border,” the memo reads.

“Foreign fighters motivated by ideology or mercenary soldiers of fortune may attempt to obfuscate travel to or from the US to or from countries in the Middle East through Mexico,” the memo adds, before listing the patches of Hamas, PIJ and Hezbollah.

Since Joe Biden became president the security situation around the world has collapsed. The border is wide open, and wars are breaking out. Afghanistan, Ukraine, Israel… China is sending its navy to the Middle East, and the US has already been engaged in military action in the Middle East, with 12,000 US Navy personnel headed to the region in two aircraft carrier battle groups. Our munitions stocks are getting depleted.

It’s a mess.

About the only thing that has gotten better is that the president isn’t clever enough to send out mean tweets.

So there is that.
