Believe it or not, for once I have far too many memes to use in a single Sunday Smiles.
For some reason, Twitter has provided an embarrassment of riches in the past couple of weeks. Unfortunately, I see so many memes as I collect them that I lose my sense of irony and honestly lose the ability to sort them by amusement value. You see the same meme 4x in a week and it loses its punch.
Still, that’s a better problem than being left in the lurch, desperately seeking new content.
The world is so absurd that in principle new memes should write themselves. At least it seems so to me, but I can say that only because I leave the creativity to others with actual comedic talent.
A 2nd rate comic might look at Jerry Seinfeld’s observational human and say “That looks easy,” the reality is that real genius only looks easy. There is a reason why Seinfeld is nearing billionaire status and his detractors can’t get a gig.
Think of me as that 2nd rate comic. Only I know that making good memes is not easy. Unfortunately it also isn’t lucrative.
