Old and busted: People shouldn’t speculate on diagnoses unless they are a doctor and have examined the subject. New hotness: Doctors can diagnose remotely — and play Sherlock Holmes as well. Late on Sunday night, Dr. Bennet Omalu, who made the connection between NFL football concussions and CTE, went on Twitter to warn Hillary Clinton she might be being poisoned — and that Donald Trump and/or Vladimir Putin was behind it.

I must advice the Clinton campaign to perform toxicologic analysis of Ms. Clinton's blood. It is possible she is being poisoned.

The Washington Post’s Cindy Boren notes that skepticism over Omalu’s troll-fu didn’t stop him from pressing the point:

But this is Omalu, whose credentials and tenacity are well known. He wasn’t giving up on Twitter, adding that his reasoning is that he does not trust Russian President Vladimir Putin or Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee who has expressed admiration for Putin. …

Omalu, famously played by Will Smith in “Concussion,” has studied and obtained a number of degrees. Born in Nigeria, he became a U.S. citizen in 2015. He became known for the tenacity with which he pursued the deaths of several former Pittsburgh Steelers during his time in the city’s medical examiner’s office. Eventually, he convinced skeptics that players were suffering brain damage as the result of taking a number of blows to the head.

Sounds like Dr. Omalu has taken a couple of blows to the crown recently, too. Boren points out that poisonings are indeed part of Putin’s repertoire, with the slow-process assassination of Alexander Litvinenko being the most prominent potential example, but Litvinenko was a former KGB officer living on his own in the UK.  Hillary has had Secret Service protection for years, and even more so over the course of the campaign.

What about Trump? He’s not exactly a covert-ops genius. Trump spent his life as a high-profile real-estate tycoon and reality-TV star. The worst Trump might do is abuse eminent domain to seize Bill’s office in Harlem.

One thing is certain: Dr. Omalu isn’t buying the pneumonia explanation. Will Hillary start complaining about conspiracy theorists on the Left now, and perhaps start a new basket of deplorables with Omalu as the first entry. We could get Will Smith to play Omalu again in The Deplorables II: Putin on the Fritz. I wonder what kind of reception Omalu will get the next time he testifies before Congress … or if we hear much from him in the future at all after this.
