Texas Opie Doing Some Braggin' on the Republican 'Leaders' Endorsing Him

All I could say once I had a chance to blow up the list and actually read who these people were - only one infamous name stood out - was, 'Oh, dear.'

And the best Texas Democratic Senate nominee, James Talarico, could do, as far as anyone remotely recognizable as a 'Republican leader' who would be turncoat enough to endorse the weaselly freak, is exactly the sort of fellow you expect associating with a fringe player - former Congressman Adam 'Weepy Pants' Kinzinger.

This naturally led to much disgusted hilarity right off the bat.

Who is running Opie's campaign that they think Kinzinger would be on anyone's radar as an endorsement to go public with?

Any candidate in their right mind would pay the sniffly, backstabbing Kinzinger good campaign cash to keep his mouth shut, but who are we talking about here?

The clueless ingenue, Opie, whose campaign advisors must be giggling hysterically as they charge him for worthless services rendered at exorbitant rates.

Case in point: when one parses the unfamiliar names of these rumored Republican 'leaders,' it turns out that none of them are currently leading a damn thing. They are either all retired, have been voted out of office, or are simply political hacks and never led a damn thing to begin with.

It would be, like, calling Rick Wilson a 'Republican leader' if someone was stupidly desperate to hook him up for an endorsement (wait a minute - lemme double-check this list...).

A 'leader' is a GOP convention delegate?

WHUT

Having been the county GOP vice-chair during the 2016 campaign, I can tell you all that means is that individual was able to pull some strings or claw someone's eyes out to get that floor seat. It doesn't mean they are a power in the party. If they were, it would give their local or state party affiliation and office as well.

What hokum.

A 'campaign advisor to George W. Bush'? Whoop dee frickin' doo.

Some of these reported 'GOP' types make a habit of endorsing the other party for Schlitz and giggles, so they don't count.

I could go on, but really - this is one of the saddest things I've ever seen. What an embarrassment, or would be if they were capable of it.

There's not a single current sitting Republican, which, to my way of thinking, also tells you something about the supposed breach between the Cornyn/Paxton GOP. If it were truly filled with as much animosity as the pundits have been trying to make it sound, surely there would have been a current serving Cornyn loyalist on this list looking to stick it to Paxton just because...and there are none.

The best they could do is a guy who was Cornyn's Deputy Attorney General back when Cornyn served as AG, and he left that office in 2002.

In fact, it's worse than that.  Much like Talarico's moderate facade, they're nearly all GOP frauds and almost all Kinzinger associates.

As one wag in the comments put it, the list kind of misses the 'leader' mark.

Now, Opie tried to do some clean-up after this big leader list came out, and...ho, boy.

I don't know that the new slogan is really helping with everyone's first impression, you know?

IT'S TOP VERSUS BOTTOM

With James, 'top v bottom' seems to be kinda a thing.

I probably oughta screenshot that sucker before someone wakes up and has Opie delete it, huh?

Bet he does.

And that will make Kinzinger cry again because he never sees his name out in public anymore.

It's almost like he's nobody anyone wants to hear from or about him ever again.

Opie sure can pick 'em.
