Suddenly DOCTOR Jill's Fictional Masterwork Merely Markdown Bin Material

Aw, say it ain't so?

Actually, I am delighted to say it is. And I don't think I've been as tickled since I last saw a volume on the markdown table at Barnes and Noble that had Hillary Clinton's sour mug on the front with a $1 price sticker slapped over her big mouth.

Oh, man - that was a warm glow that lasted nearly an hour. The memory still makes me smile.

While Hillary's self-serving travels down a resentment-filled memory lane actually sold a few individual books to real, truly sad and pathetic people with no lives, it doesn't seem as if even that level of cat-lady interest was present for DOCTOR Jill Biden's version of cashin' in on who she married.

The former First Lady's book debuted as Number One on the New York Times 'nonfiction' *spits* bestseller list. No climbing any lowly 'earned her place' totem polls for Jill Biden!

But there were already signs even at the debut that perhaps it wasn't Jill Biden fans rushing bookstores or pre-ordering from Amazon to be the first in their book club to have a copy. A small, but discrete symbol appeared alongside the No. 1 listing. It was this thing: †

The dagger symbol † next to one of the NYT entries denotes that the sales figures may be skewed by 'bulk purchases.' These large-volume purchases would obviously change the dynamics of a book's honest popularity rating, and the Times does try to be somewhat upfront about it.

If a book is catching fire by word of mouth and sustains its popularity, it maintains its position, because bulk purchases are one-offs and done, whereas individual sales are a continuous stream.

Now, no one could put any blame on Jill Biden for not getting out there and flogging the beejeebus out of this horror she'd invented and then had printed..

Oh, to the contrary. I wouldn't be surprised if, as soon as her second disastrous TV interview, Jill Biden's phone wasn't ringing off the hook with Democratic donors and operatives offering to pay her whatever she demanded to keep any more of her and her fabulist stories of Joe's strokes, etc., from airtime. The public viewing and subsequent Republican skewering were so brutal...

...hustling the DOCTOR to exit, Stage Right, had to be a priority at the DNC.

Was Jill Biden's winsome, appealing presence and devoted, concerned wife act enough to help book sales in the end?

It seems not. In fact, the 'sales' and best-seller list are raising even more eyebrows and questions concerning the already skeevy reputations the Bidens have for financial wizardry of the questionable kind.

Biden's abrupt tumble from No. 1 has been politely termed 'very rare.'

Former First Lady Jill Biden’s memoir had a brief run atop the New York Times bestseller list before tumbling out of the rankings just weeks later — fueling online speculation that its lofty debut owed more to bulk book orders than to sustained reader demand.

“View from the East Wing,” which was published by Simon & Schuster’s imprint Gallery Books, debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times Hardcover Nonfiction list on June 21 with a dagger (†) symbol indicating that retailers reported some bulk purchases.

By the following week, it had slipped to No. 3, and it has since fallen off the list altogether.

The sharp drop has sparked claims on social media that the 299-page book reached the top through orchestrated buying campaigns instead of real consumer demand.

Someone else might say 'it reeks of horse poopy.'

...Former FiveThirtyEight founder Nate Silver was among the most prominent critics, writing on X that the memoir “debuted at #1 on the NYT due to astroturfed bulk orders” before noting that it was “completely” off the list two weeks later and calling such a rapid decline “very rare.”

Some folks did back-of-the-envelope figuring, and the sales were not impressive.

How the game is played.

And who pays?

Oh, one of those oligarchic billionaires who never seems to make the progressives' target list.

...That way the store never touches it but gets their cut of the money.  They are all in on it.  Every store Jill Biden listed for a signing probably got several orders for a gross of her books

Online books are bought with fake Amazon and Barnes accounts and never downloaded. Soros employees have debit cards just for that purpose

You know there had to be a big honkin' second check just to convince the spotlight-loving Mrs Biden to sit down and shut up.

People keep making comparisons to Gavin Newsom's momentary embarrassment when it was revealed that he'd spent a million and a half of his own bucks to juice sales figures for his fairy tale version of 'My Life as the Son of a Poor, Black Sharecropper.'

But, you see, that would never happen with the Bidens.

NEVER

Why?

Because the rapacious Bidens have had other people covering their bills for so long, there's no way they're spending their money on what was meant to be a Biden money-making scheme to begin with.

HAY-YULL, NO

And this cash grab seems to be ending with as much class and dignity as the Biden presidency.

Back to the beach until September, when Joe's turn for his literary flight of fancy is released.

A memoir from a guy who can't remember jack squat.

Should be riveting. For sure, a guaranteed best seller - straight to Number One.

You just watch.
